KFC Highfields — Restaurant in Queensland

Really quite annoyed- ordered a "cheap as chips" meal through the app and clarified my order at the drive through before it was packed. I do not like breast chicken and specifically asked for four thighs 4 legs. The girl said "certainly, we'll see what we can do." When I got to first window I realised the girl wasn't communicating with inside staff, so I asked if I should check at the next window. She said, " oh, that'd be a good idea, not everyone has headphones." (Wasn't overly impressed that she'd answered me, knowing that the message may or may not get to the packing staff) So, next window, as my order was being handed to me I asked if they'd received my request, explaining again that I didn't like breast chicken... The lady serving was obviously busy, said "we'll see what we can do" quickly grabbed the box, took it to another girl, instructed her to swap one piece and thrust the package back at me. And when I got home, 4 of the 8 pieces were breast. I know that sometimes it can't be helped and sometimes things aren't available, but my request was very obviously a bother and the cursory "check" was just to placate and move me on - thinking that my request had been dealt with. Worst part was, I think it was the duty manager who actually palmed me off. Not a great example, nor adequate customer service. Might explain why the first girl I spoke with was able to also evade actually tending to a customer's request with a glib...

Salutations All, I am distressed to announce that my husband and lifelong partner Hank Humphry sadly passed away yesterday evening; I remember how much he liked this store, so I thought I'd leave a memento to this once beloved place he came to; in fact, we met at KFC. It was 1962. I’d taken a wrong turn looking for this new "novelty shop" my friend whispered about, real hush-hush stuff back then. I ended up outside a KFC, flustered and out of place. He was sitting on the hood of his Chevy, eating fried chicken and listening to The Supremes on the radio. He tipped his hat, asked if I was lost. I was. He handed me a drumstick, and I stayed. Didn’t find the store, but I found him. I hope his legacy, and the joy he carried with him everyday lives on, I can guarantee to him in heaven that the toys he bought me from A.O in Toowoomba will not be taken for granted any longer.

Had the pop n’ twister recently, I’m not exaggerating it was the most delicious food item to have ever touched my mouth🥹. Crispy fresh popcorn chicken, cheese and bacon that that hits every savoury note, the perfect amount of sauce that didn’t make it dry, all wrapped in a tortilla that was warmed🤤. KFC outperforms every fast food restaurant in this country let alone the entire planet.

I also had the bacon lover burger when it was available and yet again I’m not kidding either, it was the best burger of all time (at least from a fast food place).

Photos look exactly like the food, chips stay hot and crispy for more than 3 mins. And every item is made with actually quality food. Gotta say staff and joyous too.

I truly don’t understand the bad reviews on here, although it’s probably due to fact that when people have bad experiences they leave bad reviews and when they don’t they don’t bother to review.
