Today we had a truly poorly experience at Monty’s with the owner. Family and friends gathered together to celebrate the life of my grandfather after having his funeral service. My cousins, siblings and I were chatting and laughing at the table, meanwhile my 16 year old brother was playing with the table salt from Aldi on the table cracking it and putting it back in. The owner of the restaurant approached my brother, yelling at him that he is a disgusting person and disrespectful to peoples property. My brother apologised a lot and was quite shaken from the reaction to where he was then also told to “grow a pair”. The owner then told him to throw out the salt to where my brother did so as the owner followed him and telling him he has absolutely no respect. My brother then came back to the table where we had moved on and started laughing about something completely unrelated. To where the owner then came back again yelling at him to leave with my brother doing so, also telling him if he refuses to leave he will be calling the cops, where too the parent was talking to friends and family and had no idea what was going on. We all then told my brother to come back in and apologise again, where the owner did allow him back in but continued to tell him that he is disrespectful. I completely understand that my brother shouldn’t have been playing with the salt and that this is a privately owned pub. Although the reaction of the owner was completely unnecessary as he hadn’t asked kindly before hand and mainly my brother is a 16 year old boy. This is a 5 star restaurant which should be lovely but this...

The wagu Burger is a stand-out on the menu as it really accentuates the meat flavour in a way that differs from other local burgers - a large part of this comes down to the cooking on coals which you can definitely taste. A nicely rounded burger that isn't over-powered by anything added to the bun and still allowing the meat to really shine is a rare quality these days and this one does it really well. So check it out.
Of course as this is a brewery, the beers need to be mentioned, and they are quite something - though I must admit I was quite partial to the ginger beer and lemonades as they were really quite something and could be dangerous if one were to forget what you were drinking (but in a good way!). I'm sure you will find many more of the craft beers are delicious as well.
Overall the experience is well worth the time and if you have the ability to go in the right time, I'm sure out the back would make for some incredible views both at night and during the day (it overlooks the valley). You won't be...
Read moreHello, our family of ten got together to celebrate my birthday at Montys on Saturday. We were all there back in December 2024 and absolutely loved the experience. This weekend however was very disappointing. One of our sons had great fish and chips, my husband and daughter in law had curry but it was tasteless and soupy in consistency. Another son had a nice steak sandwich. Our daughter had to eventually enquire after her chicken pie meal, which we were told wouldn't be much longer. It came but wasn't nice as the pastry was really hard all over and the inside was reduced to very little (overcooked). I had the mushroom pasta like I've had before but it was very runny. I had to cut the pasta and stick it with my fork to pick it up and eat the mushroom piece by piece. Another son had the beef pie meal which he said was fine. It was disappointing because most drove from Brisbane because we liked it last time but all vowed not to next time. I hope it doesn't start going downhill as it is a...
