Masons Café is a fantastic spot for a relaxed meal, offering a unique and well-executed menu in a charming setting. One of the standout dishes is their crocodile burger, which is not only a novelty but genuinely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by the fresh toppings and soft bun. The potato wedges are another highlight, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, served with just the right balance of seasoning. The café itself has a welcoming atmosphere with outdoor seating available, making it a great place to soak in the surroundings while enjoying your meal. The addition of a public toilet nearby is also a convenient touch for visitors. One thing to note, however, is the café’s limited operating hours—it opens at 11:00 AM and closes at 2:30 PM during February, which might feel a bit restrictive for those looking for a late lunch or afternoon coffee. That being said, if you plan your visit accordingly, the food and experience are well worth it. Masons Café offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience, and while the hours might require a little planning, the quality of food, particularly the crocodile burger and wedges, makes it a place worth visiting.

Only good thing about it was the swimming hole. Should've just come for that but we thought we would be supportive and buy stuff from the cafe. Ordered a soursop smoothie which was delicious however for $10 it was offensively small (see photo). I get things are expensive now and I don't mind paying for quality but if you're charging $10 for a smoothie then make it a $10 serving size. This was way too small and not worth $10. Also ordered a double shot flat white which was brought out in a giant mug - no I didn't want giant mug of milk. That's a milkshake. To fix this they just tipped half of it into a smaller cup thinking I wouldn't notice. I did notice. Next time I'll just come here to swim. Cheers.

DOG FRIENDLY!!! Understandably, there's not too much that allows dogs to stop in for a visit travelling through the Daintree, but Mason's Cafe is one of the very few exceptions. This dainty cafe/ shop is a great place to stop in and get a decent bite to eat and a great range of milkshakes and smoothies! If you love a burger 🍔 this cafe is a must visit. Dogs are allowed only at the tables below the stairs to the main eatery and the grassed areas out the front, not the main eating area. There's a proper flushing toilet connected to the back of the kitchen with basin and hand dryer. For $1, you can safely swim at the swimming hole out the back.

Most ridiculous thing i have seen so far is that this place doesn't have a toilet or even a wash place. You have our food, but don't wash ur hands and leave 🤣

I have travelled to many countries and never even seen a place without a wash room, atleast there would a be a public one near by if they don't have any. Not even sure if the cafe runs by the legal standards

Secondly, too many flies. I was multi tasking while eating. One hand getting rid of the flies. Who likes their food to have a bunch of flies while having it. Do something about it guys

Thirdly, the food is just average, but expensive. Probably every restaurant in this area is the same i that case

RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S REPLY

Our Bill was "63.88 $" and we visited your cafe on the 13th OCT (Thursday). To be more clear, we had a kangaroo burger (plus wedges), beef burger (plus Fries), 2 Garlic sauces and also a jackfruit smoothie and we paid with the Credit card (around 1:40 PM)

when we asked the Store person earlier that day, on our way to the swim hole, we were told there is no change rooms or wash rooms in this venue at all, so we changed our clothes in our car. Also while we were having food, there was another couple who came outside and were talking loudly about no wash rooms in the place and the closest one is near the Friendly Grocer. They were also customers who just finished having their food from your cafe

you might be having FLICKS inspection once in a week or once in a month, however there were too many flies. we had food from the WHET cafe and Turtle Rock cafe which is not far from your place and haven't faced any fly infestation issue in those places

Also, these feedbacks are for you to improve, so that the next customer will be a Happy one and don't have any bad experience in this beautiful town of cape trib. Instead you went defensive and claim that the person didn't even have any food at your place and call it a non sense review.

It is a good idea to tackle all the negative reviews as non customer and non sense review. lol

I am not going to lose anything, except for the time i put in to write the review & reply, but you may lose a prospective customers, as your cafe is not the only one this area
