Absolutely pathetic junk food joint. The many reviews prove my point. I moved to Mackay two years ago. Naturally, my teenage son wanted to get food from MacVomit, as I call them. The food is cheap mush. Tasteless goo. But what really gets me is that every few months when I'm compelled to go there, they make a BIG MISTAKE. The response from the alleged "managers" is APATHY. Today, I bought a small meal. After paying, I saw two windows (3 and 4) saying "collect here". After waiting for a while at window 3, and no one came, I drove to window 4. Also, no one came. I got out of my car and knocked on the window. Also, no one came. So, I walked to window 4 and they had several staff there. I told a guy called Zakk (with two 'k's) to come to window 4 as there were cars waiting at window 3. When I asked him why I've been waiting at window 4 for 10 minutes, he merely said: "We're short staffed". And? I told him to at least put a sign up indicating where I can collect my food.
The time before that, I paid at the payment window and was told to drive to the collection window. Upon arrival, I was told that my payment hadn't gone through. When I asked why I was told to collect my food, she didn't know. I wanted her to bring her mobile payment device so I would swipe my phone again, but she claimed that it wasn't working. She wanted me to give her my phone, unlocked, so she could take it to the payment machine. Huh? What? I'm not going to give a stranger my unlocked phone that has access to my bank accounts and private data! I had to reverse down the laneway to pay.
I think you get my message. They usually forget to give me barbecue sauce with chicken nuggets, they give me wrong burgers, they forget items and their milky-frothy machine is usually out of order. Their weird payment screens inside are usually out of order...and all these people can do is give me a look of apathy: "Uhg..it's not my fault...". If you're the...
Read moreHorrible service. I drove in on 10th of december at about 9:30pm to order a frozen coke zero. The lady over the intercom was very nice and friendly and said that my order was no problem and to drive forward. I then paid and went to the next window to receive my beverage. An older lady in who appeared to be in her late 50’s or early 60’s came to the window and was very rude and acted frustrated towards me that they did not have any frozen coke zero. I said i would take just a liquid coke zero and be in my way and all I received was a grunt and then my drink was thrust out the window. I thanked her to which i was ignored. I then repeated it to ensure she had heard and she stared at me saying nothing. I then said it again and she smirked and stormed off. The customer service was horrendous and my family will not be going back. Even if you are working at a fast food restaurant in your 50’s you need to have even a slight amount of customer service. This was a very unprofessional and unsatisfactory encounter and after speaking to friends about the blatant rudeness I have discovered that she has a reputation for such behaviour and is referred to as the grouch of Ooralea. Otherwise all was good up until this point. I hope a manager or HR sees this and speaks to her. Maybe offer the basic training in customer service she so desperately...
Read moreOh Mcdonalds. When will you learn that self-serve is not the way to go? It may be ok for some but do not get rid of all your registers at the counter! You are a service. Customers enjoy the smile of the server, the brief chat, the interaction... Instead, l raced in on Monday for lunch. I was greeted by those impersonal terminals (one of which was stuck and had been abandoned... l tried to get it to reset). All l wanted was a smile from a server. I got a stuck terminal and a server who offered to help me, yes, but by this stage l was really really yearning for the smile with quicker service. You know, the server who tappity taps on the register and takes your money in the traditional way. I'm not an old fogey who doesn't embrace change. I work with technology! But l love the personal touch. Customers love the personal touch. Touch pad terminals don't smile and make you feel good for walking in the door. They don't make you think "What a lovely young girl! I wish l knew her name so l could post a review and give her credit for her prople skills" as happened to me in Ayr Red Rooster a few weeks ago. I have a mental list of Maccas that have no registers. I will not return. I walked out with nothing on Monday. No food. No smile. No nothing. Please recognise that a small percentage of your customers do...
