A friend and I stayed at Mission Beach Resort for New Years Eve 2024 + a couple of days. We were told there was a Shuttle Bus that would take us into town (approx. 7kms away) that night. We were told it would leave at 9.15pm. We provided them with my name and phone number. When we arrrived at the Waiting area, there were already ppl there that said they had been told 9pm. We waited and waited. Around 9.30pm some other ppl came and they said they had been told 9.30pm. We waited some more....and some more...and then some. No one came and told us anything.||Eventually a woman came and loaded us on the bus. By this time there were 8 of us. She dropped us in the Mission Beach township, at the Tavern, telling us she would be back a little after 12 midnight, to pick us up.||Midnight came and went, and 6 of us were sitting out the front of the Tavern a little after midnight. We waited, and waited and waited. A few of the group tried calling the Resort, and were told various and conflicting stories, including: "we don't have anyone booked to return, the woman was there at 1/4 past and waited out the front of the post office, but no one came, so she left, the woman has knocked off for the night, and gone home". One caller was even told that it was a Courtesy Bus - giving the impression that they were only doing it as a courtesy and had no obligation. All of the Taxis and other mini buses were flat out, and just couldnt fit us in.||Sometime after 1.30am, the woman came to pick us up.... in her own personal car, that could only take 4 of the 6 of us, which meant two ppl had to sit and wait (again) til she came back to get them (if she remembered), She said it was just easier to use her car than go to the office and get the mini bus ! Easier for who ???||The next day I went to Reception to complain, and was told that the woman was on duty all night, so there shouldn't have been a problem.||The lady at Reception gave me the minimum acceptable apology, saying she would look into it. I told her I didnt care what she did with the information, it had been a big dampener on the night and it would now make me think twice before booking out of town or at her...

The Studio Family room that we booked was spacious, but it smelt of bleach when we first arrived, which was off putting to my travel companion. The bathroom had no fan in it which was a little frustrating as everything fogged up, making it damp. The bathroom looked like it was straight out the of 1960s, I believe it would have been the original tiles and fittings from when the establishment first opened, not like the nicer new rooms that feature on the website. Unfortunately the room had no seats inside, (except for the beds), which was frustrating, especially as we were not able to sit outside due to the wind and rain. For my elderly travel companion this was a little frustrating. Benches and carpets were also older, and had marks on them, however the room was clean, and the beds were nicely made. Aircon worked well. Was quiet in the room. Staff at the reception were friendly upon arrival. ||I don't recommend to those who have mobility issues having to step across a small drain and up slightly to get into the room. From there to the dining facilities I recommend an umbrella too, but you need to be cautious walking on the pavers around the resort as they were unstable and rocked/wobbled. ||It is conveniently located close to Woolworths, but for those from down south and used to the convenience of shopping seven days a week, this is not the case in Mission Beach/Wongaling Beach, on a Sunday it is a ghost town. ||There is a jug in the room, and water and milk is provided in a bar fridge. There is no microwave. ||You do get what you pay for. The Studio Family room is not as nice as the other rooms you see online, but then again it wasn't too expensive. It has potential to be nice.||Also note, when you close the curtains the room is enveloped in darkness, which is perfect for a much welcomed sleep in when...

The customer provides the quality control. Unbelievable. |The attitude is if it's broken, let us know and we may or may not fix it but we won't give you anything for your trouble.|The light above my bed didn't work. I only found out at 11 pm.|The TV had only sound, no picture. It was fixed after I had told the manager once in the evening and again the next morning.|The Freezer door was missing which made the rest of the fridge wet. I was told if I had told them earlier, they would have fixed it.|The lid to the kettle didn't open.|I was told that if a light switch near my bed was important I should have mentioned it when I booked the room. I was supplied with a table lamp on a chair by the bed for my second night.|I asked for a discount, because it seemed to me that all the broken equipment had been thrown into my room and I wasn't getting the quality I would expect from any resort room in Australia. I was told I had a discount already because I had booked with a group. In fact the same price that I paid is quoted for next weekend. |The manager told me she had stayed in 100's of rooms with no switch by the bed|The first day of our event, there was no water at the bar and 3 teabags for 64 people.|On our second day, we ran out of milk during the morning break.|Having said that, the staff in the bar and restaurant were a delight, the swimming pools looked lovely and there were some interesting bird songs. A great place ruined by uncooperative...

The hotel was good. The cars can be parked in sheds which protects the car from rain. There are several swimming pools and jacuzzi. There is buffe. But the BBQ sports serve well if you are travelling like a group. The rooms a nice and comfy and they were very clean. The internet did not worked that day but they told us before hand which was nice. There were only normal channels there were no any satellite channel which was disappointing but for the price it's good place. But if you are traveling with friends it would be very fun because of free BBQ sports. Highly recommend for a group.

I’ve been touring around Australia and the world for many years, but this place felt like home, everyone from the staff and clientele were brilliant. The rooms and grounds/ pools were kept at a very high standard Very close to shops and BWS was next door. And every meal at the bistro was fantastic and prices were great compared to other options also. I would definitely recommend %200. Thank you Steve and Courtney and staff. See you all again soon ..

Fantastic studio, clean, spacious, quiet with high ceilings and a super comfy bed. We got to park our SUV right outside our door. The room with balcony overlooked one of the pools. Our dinner of steak and ribs was one of the best meals ever!! The chocolate sundae for dessert was heavenly too. I recommend driving to Mission Beach as it's only a 5 Min drive but not worth walking to as there aren't any pavements. I'd definitely stay longer next time.
