Railway Hotel Beaudesert — Restaurant in Queensland

First time I went there staff were incredible second time for lunch was a total turn around...

Lazy staff that looked as if they wanted to be anywhere but there..

After we had finished our wonderful meal... well I hadn't finished. I asked to get the rest to go, I was then told yes so I picked up my plate to hand it to the server... as you do, who had moved away and then opened the door.

I had to carry my own plate... I mean I'm no princess but this was downright rude. Then I had the take away container placed on the counter and was told to fill it up...

Most places I know to avoid spills will take it out the back in the kitchen and do it there... or bring the container to you at the table for you to do it at your leisure.

This was just bizarre... my friend and I both agreed it wasn't just something off, it was plain rude.

No smiles, no friendly attitudes and when my friend and I split up to try and get things ordered faster, I went for drinks, they went for food, one of the servers went out the back, this meant that the person who took my friends order for food, had to serve me for drinks... there were several people on, it was hardly smashed... why was this necessary.

As usual the food was amazing, can't say anything bad...

Not locals but in town on a day trip, so we decided on this place. Went for a family lunch on Sunday. Small little tavern although it was quite busy in the restaurant/dining area at that time. Cute little kids play room where parents can also sit and eat with their children. Quite a small gaming room. We were a party of 5, Fish, salad and chips were cooked to perfection. Gravy tasted great. A couple of members in our group were delighted that there were onions in their salad, a big plus as many restaurants don't have that. The Pork roast and vegies were nice and the the Pork was lovely and tender. Young man taking orders was polite and helpful. Wait time for our lunch was a bit long but we considered how busy it was so that was understandable. We liked the fact you could see the kitchen and the chefs preparing and cooking the food. Bar staff were very nice. Overall we were quite impressed with the quality of our food and the prices including the staff who were polite and courteous and it was nice of the staff member who kindly took a photo of our group when we asked. Read the reviews before I placed my order for pick up,sounded great everyone mentioned portion size quality etc. I paid $130 for my order. In the order I got butter chicken and when I opened the bag with the containers in it I was disgusted. The butter chicken that I paid $26 for was a half filled container of sauce with 6 or 7 tiny pieces of chicken in it, and the rice container which I'll say was a small container had about 50cents worth of rice and not even a peice of naan bread. I've never before in my life written a review for any restaurant or business but I'm sick and tired of being ripped off by so called professional chefs who talk it up and boast about their kitchens, bring back mum and pop businesses who actually gave you meals that were worth the money asked for. We seem to pay more and more but just get less and then just have to live with it. Wrong. Quite happy to...
