UPDATE JAN 2024 Holloways Beach was devastated by floods in mid December 2023. As this place is on the beach I thought it would be closed. On a reconnaissance trip I found it wasn't and it was operating as normal. So I went with friends to try it again. The owners said they weren't affected by the floods / water but lost power for a long period and had to dispose of all their food inventory. The good news is we found it was as good as before. I'm happy to say the previous review still applies. I should mention I ordered a different dish this time and it was as enjoyable as the last time. ORIGINAL REVIEW It looks like I'm going to repeat what many reviews have already said. This place has good food in a great location. I ordered a simple burger -- the lowest price point on their burger menu. It tasted great. The beef patty was juicy and had good flavour. I wouldn't say it's expensive and they could probably charge just for the views, but hey, they're free. I saw quite a few people enjoying coffee so apparently that's an option, too. No complaints about this place. I enjoyed it.

The service here has always been questionable, but the food was usually good enough to look past the bad service. However that’s definitely not the case anymore. Today we visited for the last time to pick up a takeaway (we’re locals). We got to the front and let them know we were there to pick up our order and were told to wait to the side. No worries, it must not have been ready yet. Except it was - it was sitting right next to the till. Eventually they called us back over to take the order, and we questioned why we’d been told to wait if it had been there (getting cold) the whole time. The response was, ‘we’re just really busy’. We opened it up when we got home to find two sad burgers and a box of incredibly limp, undercooked cold chips for $41. We won’t be back.

We went there on the public holiday in Queensland and had to pay a 15% surcharge, which I thought was a like high. The waitresses were very friendly and cleaned the tables as soon as you finished. There was some usual seating around the place. The day was a little overcast and windy, but that didn't bother us, as we were sitting under a shelter. The food was great and came out quick, considering it was very busy,Recommend to book. There is live music on Saturday's. Agreat place to take a group or love one and spent a afternoon, drinking and looking out to sea.

This venue wins my prize for the greatest waste of a perfect location. We have been before for a couple of average breakfasts with average coffee, but today's visit took the cake. We ordered takeaway - 2 burgers and 3 BLTs - from the surly and abrupt cashier. We were also going to order a beer, but couldn't as it was a takeaway order and alcohol can't leave the premises (fair enough, totally understand that). 30 minutes later, we checked in to see what was happening with this rather simple order, and were told it was "just coming up now". Another 20 minutes later, still no food and asked again, only to be told the same again. Another 10 minutes (we're up to an hour after ordering now) we finally got the two burgers and one of the three BLTs. It then took another 5-10 minutes for the remaining two sandwiches to appear. Seriously, over an hour for a simple takeaway order, with no warning whatsoever that there might be a wait? It's a Thursday afternoon and not particularly busy. We were waiting on the premises and could easily have polished off that beer and more while we waited. To her credit, one staff member who appeared to have just started her shift by the time we received the order was very apologetic, but it really was too late. It was some consolation that the food was indeed quite tasty, but we were so hungry by then that it probably wouldn't have mattered. The location is amazing, right on the waterfront, the only one of its kind in the area - I just wish they would sell up and let a capable operator...

we always love to eat and enjoy weekend in this restaurant as food are amazing... service is really good. serves food pretty quick aswell.. either dine in or take out. its very convenient as its really close to the play ground and just right at the beach but last weekend I got very horrible experience with one of the waiter. I got little two year old boy and he was playing with his little ride on toy together with other kids which I was watching him all the time aswell to make sure he doesnt harm anyone. till after nearly two hour of us being there this waiter approach me that my sons ride needs to be taken away he took it and put it in the corner "considering my son plays with it for nearly two hours already" my son cries big time and wanting his ride back and that waiter told me my son can play outside pointing on the road where there is traffic!!! and when I said we are leaving anyway and he look at me like he would do something if I dont take my son outside!! so awe end up leaving the place in a hurry. well Mr I do hope you do get this message and I do hope that one day you will have a child and you will know the struggle that I have that day and the insult of you pointing to me that my son can play in the traffic instead!!! I am so insulted with how you approach me as I know my son can be so annoying!!! but you dont tell me that my son can play in the traffic!!!! what A shame.. I will be talking this bad experience to everyone specially to mums like me this experience to warn them of the insult I had...
