Officially the worst Thai I've ever had. We've had food from here a few times, usually when we can't be bothered to drive into town to the decent Thai restaurants, and it's always been at best 6/10. I thought I'd give it a go again in the vain hope things might have gotten better. They absolutely have not. In fact, the food we used to get was actually pretty good compared to this rip-off slop. The minimal meat in each of our dishes was tough as leather, full of gristle and tasteless. The sauces themselves were overly sweet, thin, bland and tasteless. I could literally make better tasting Thai food with a paste from Woolies. My son, who is usually so easy going with food and rarely complains, said it was seriously ordinary. The curry puffs and fish cakes were the only redeemable part of the meal and the only reason I'm not starving, because I couldn't even eat the rest of it. The service is fine, the kids employed there are pleasant and do a good job. The food however is awful. For god sake, sell up and let someone who knows how to actually cook decent, authentic Thai food take over. Highfields desperately needs it and you...
Read moreRead online menu that is currently published on their website. Placed my order with no mention of cost total over the phone being different from their website menu. I was charged about $20 more than was advetised, I politely asked for the cost and was told there was a new menu. Obviously at this point I had waited 30mins for it to be cooked and driven over to collect. The girl rudely told me it was no one's fault, obviously it is 100% the business owner/ managers fault for not updating their website. They said I could not buy certain items if I wanted it cheaper, wouldn't honour the price advertised by themselves. I have hungry children, can't really just place another 30min wait time order at the fish...
Read moreOrdered a Pad Thai with chicken from the take-away menu $15.50 Added five slices of Tofu to the dish which took it to $28.00. They charged $2.50 per slice of Tofu. Ridiculous!!! I phoned back after checking the menu prices again and the girl confirmed they charge $2.50 per slice. We always add Tofu to our Pad Thai and have never been charged an extra $12.50.You can buy a 400 grams for $2.30 in the supermarket. Also ordered a Beef with Basil which was watery and tasteless and beef was dry. We just moved to the area and were hoping for a good local Thai restaurant. Unfortunately for us it isn't at Thai Lee La in Highfields. One star for the friendly staff and one for...
