Nik and the team at Flackyard provided such a unique and intimate dining experience.

It is truly an incomparable feast that I would recommend to anybody who loves a good feed.

Situated in a quaint refurbished church surrounded by cane fields, the Flackyard is an absolute unassuming hidden gem!

All the food was exciting, different and most of all delicious! We had the 8 course meal and got to try so many new native Australian ingredients and flavours. My favourite dish was the coral trout with sea grapes and finger lime.

Not only was the food amazing, the service and their passion for sourcing great quality seasonal ingredients was so clear. Nik, the head chef, comes out to describe every detail about each course and beverage you have and it really makes the experience so much more special. They make fancy food so casual at the same time, like having a meal with a friend.

Also if you’re not a fan of alcoholic drinks, they have an amazing non-alcoholic selection of drinks! My favourite was the non-alcoholic Flackyard cider.

It was an honour to be a guest at a place with such a clear focus to live out their vision.

A really inspiring restaurant that also happens to be a great place to eat. I hope they continue to create and flourish! Will definitely back again.

Thank you to Nik...

What an absolutely unforgettable dining experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such warmth and genuine friendliness by the owners Nik & Em. Their passion for food and hospitality truly shines through.

Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with unique flavours and creativity. You can tell that each plate has been carefully crafted with both skill and love. The chef Nik is nothing short of a magician in the kitchen—transforming Australian native ingredients into creations that are surprising, delightful, and utterly delicious.

To make the experience even more remarkable, with each dish came a perfectly crafted non-alcoholic cocktail, thoughtfully designed to enhance and elevate flavours. These pairings weren’t just drinks; they were part of the story, amplifying the culinary magic on the plate.

What stood out most was the knowledge and care behind it. Nik & Em shared with us each plate/glass creation and the ingredients behind the dishes and drinks, which made the whole experience even more special.

It’s a culinary journey with a view of Lake Leschenaultia to get lost in the beauty of it all. I would recommend The Flackyard to anyone who loves food that excites...

Visit this restaurant for a transformative dining experience that delves deeply into the richness of Australian native ingredients. Unlike many, this eatery doesn’t just sprinkle native elements sparingly; instead, it celebrates an abundance of indigenous ingredients throughout the menu, introducing diners to delightful and unique tastes. Every aspect, from its breathtaking remote location to the curated culinary journey led by Chefs Nik and Jordan, contributes to making dining here more than just a meal.

The highlights include exquisite dishes like King River Wagyu beef paired with truffle pommes mousselin, pickled rosella, and pepperberry oil, as well as indulgent desserts like truffle & wattle seed ice cream accented with Illawarra plum and artichoke.

Find yourself immersed in an educational feast, exploring under-utilised yet delectable ingredients across ten magnificent courses, complemented by a perfectly matched wine pairing. Despite the indulgence, you'll leave feeling light and satisfied, a testament to the clean and wholesome foods served. Don’t miss the opportunity to dine here when in the region; it’s a love affair...
