Up here for a tournament, and decided to come try local places. I love bakery’s and I love cafes - so this sounds like it was a good match for me. My child and I came for breakfast - had a ham cheese croissant and I had the eggs benny. I am an absolute fiend for an Eggs Benny, and I have to say, it was the best one I’ve had in a while. Im not sure what herby sauce? (Or it could’ve just been hollandaise?) they put to accompany it with, but my gosh it was tasty as.. Mmm My kiddo enjoyed the ham and cheese croissant. It was soft, flaky and super delicious. I came back today (two days later) to grab another croissant for my kid, and I grabbed myself an apple danish. Worth it. May have to come here 1 more time before I leave.

Today - bigger menu range, open for breakfast and lunch 7 days. Coffee is good. No cream for your Vienna, but the Chai on Almond was fabulous! ANZAC biscuit was huge and just right! 3yrs ago - Great coffee, lamington was good. Last week's almond croissant was perfect - crunchy on the outside, soft almond paste in the middle. Service was prompt. There was only one other table when we arrived. However, others were collecting takeaway and more came and went while we were here.

Havent been in over 2 years so thought Id check it out . Didnt disappoint! Great coffee and food . Its not just bread & pastries they have a brekkie menu and I tried the salmon avo on sourdough . Yum. Then next day I returned to try truffle mushrooms on toast with poached eggs added. Yummer. The fundamentals are very strong here once again . The Tao of casual but delicious cafe brunch dining has returned to this place

Really poor service. Grabbed a coffee and pastry this morning and I agree with other comments that the pastries are overpriced for their size. They also squeezed it in a small brown paper sandwich bag which perhaps a sales technique to make them seem bigger and positioned it the wrong way around and it almost fell out. Then the inattentive cashier looked at me puzzled as if it were my fault. I then proceeded to wait for my coffee and at this point was the only customer in the bakery, then 2 more customers walked in and the cashier served them (fair enough I thought, she’ll probably start making the coffee after she serves them), but no, she then proceeded to walk out the back of the bakery. Then a younger girl walked in to begin her shift and I enquired whether the coffee was on its way. She informed me that it was, then started talking to the original cashier about the floods etc. I then requested my money back as 15 minutes had now ensued and they didn’t seem to care and appeared a little dumbstruck when I requested my money back. Pick up your standards and customer service. I won’t be going back as there are many other good cafes in the Cairns region with better...

The service is terrible and this is not from a one off visit. I ordered and paid fora vegetarian quiche and cappuccino. The Coffee came out with granules in the bottom. Couldn't drink last half. They said no vegetarian quiche left, so I said quiche Lorraine would do, five minutes later a staff member came out and said I could have a Turkey or salami sandwich. All that was left. I chose to get a refund. It took 5 mins to serve us, though no other customers were waiting to be served. There were a total of 6 people in bakery. 4 already sitting. Then staff came up to man next to me and said she'd accidentally given his coffee to another patron and would he like to wait for another one to be made or a refund. He chose refund as he'd already waited 20 mins. Long waits and no queues. Would not recommend. Staff rude and just stare at you...
