Spices on Ocean — Restaurant in Rockingham

I hate to leave a negative review for a local business, however today we were well and truly mislead due to what seems like false advertising here. My wife, son and I went in for lunch after seeing the lunch specials, which were reasonably priced. We were sat down and given menus, we enquired about the lunch specials and told there are no lunch specials anymore. So we ordered off the menu anyway which was far more expensive than the lunch special.

After we ordered my wife went outside to recheck the sign which advertised the lunch specials, she went back inside and pointed to it only to be told the only specials they do are the set menu deals which are $54.99, $77.99 and $159.99. My wife came back and sat down.

I then looked online at your website which clearly advertises your lunch specials, I got back up and showed the lady serving us this. She explained the website was out of date and those specials were no longer available. She then showed me the takeaway menu and showed me the same 3 deals which she told my wife about.

My wife then left a review on Google explaining the lunch specials were not available, which after a response from possibly the owner is clearly not correct.

The food here was actually pretty good but I can't help but feel like waitress was either poorly trained or was trying to upsell to us by not giving us the correct options. She even tried telling us that 1 saffron rice was not enough for 2 people even though the menu states (serves 2). I pointed to the menu which stated (serves 2)and she mimicked with her hands the size of the bowl it comes in. It looked tiny, however when the rice came out it clearly was not that small. It was more than enough.

Very, very disappointed with our experience here and would love a decent explanation as to how the waitress got this wrong not once or twice but...

Pathetic service served meat to vegetarian person

Hi We went to this restaurant in large group of 15 people including kids ( on 1st Jan 23) We were welcomed by rude staff and one of the waitresses even refused to take our order and she disappeared in between, later another one came with rude approach also she started speaking in Punjabi ( Yes we are Indians but we are not Punjabi and we don't speak Punjabi) We asked her talk in Hindi or English so we can communicate somehow she managed to take our order Food took 40 mins to come They served " Kheema Naan" to my vegetarian friend and said its Aloo kulcha ( Which is a vegetarian naan bread)and friend ate some and noticed that something is not right with the taste and when asked about it the waitress came and said it was a kheema naan !! There was no apology by the waitress about the blunder but instead she started arguing with us. It was Awful and totally unacceptable. Staff were rude and pathetic Ruined our dinner completely

Comically Bad!..John Cleese would be proud. Ordered a vegetarian platter starter and the Samosas where frozen inside, they bought more out 20 minutes later, forgot about our mains order as customers who arrived half hour after we ordered received their mains before us, 45 minutes later mains arrive but missing two items, prompted the waitress and she bought one of the items out and asked if there was anything else and we had to ask again for the other, asked for cutlery as they had been taken away with the starter plates and the waitress bought me 4 forks (for 2 people) 🤣.. asked for a spoon but she never came back and had to ask a different waitress to get one. Guy at the checkout asked how everything was, relayed the nights performance to which he muttered "oh sorry" and proceeded to charge us for something we didn't order.
