Being Sydney Siders, a visit to country towns is always a special time for us. That is until the time came to buy a coffee.Times have changed in more recent times though and most country towns now have a coffee shop or two that can serve a decent coffee. Cafe on Louee's coffee is not award winning (and a bit hot to my taste) but more than acceptable that's for sure. But the icing on the cake at this place is their delicious and huge scones....and wait for it....deliciously smooth strawberry jam and, and, and...even more miraculous...real cream! Not that airy fairy rubbish out of a can. We didn't have a meal there but our coffee and "snack" made us leave feeling like we had. Rylestone is a lovely country town with a village atmosphere that is just starting to get a boutiquey feel about it. Cafe on Louee sits comfortably in this environment. Definitely...
Read moreOne of the worst cafes I've been to. Ordered 7 dishes + coffee worth ~$120. Got only 6 dishes. Waited 30 mins to get the final dish and no attention whatsoever. Went to talk to a waitress another 10 mins gone by. Finally realized they haven't given us 1 dish. The owner lady tried to resolve the issue with complete resentment. And heard multiple times saying to the waiter "it's not your fault" simply to make us feel like we're thieves I guess (although it's their fault for messing up the order). The cafe is filled with country chic furniture. The atmosphere is rather welcoming and it seems very busy. Food is rather tasty and you get good amount of portions. It is almost like a city cafe found in the country.
The only down side was seeing that a coffee in a take away cup is rather expensive. $4.50 for medium and $5 for large. I thought it was a joke as in the city you can pay $3.40 for a large.
