Serpentine Falls Cafe Roadhouse — Restaurant in Serpentine

Very disappointing!! This was the second time we went to this roadhouse. First time was before covid and we really liked it, good food, coffee and friendly atmosphere. Our second visit 2 and a bit years later and got to wonder what's happened. Food is not good coffee not worth drinking and the friendly atmosphere.... gone. So disappointing especially with what covid has dished out so far. Mask are mandatory and I'm pretty sure they don't serve any purpose worn below the chin. We are expected to wear them inside and I'm fairly sure that applies to the staff that serve you. The wait,,,,, we waited way too long to get served while the lady behind the counter talked with the local park ranger about a job as a ranger in the park. He had his order already and we stood waiting while they discussed the details of the prospective new job. Our order was finally taken and we sat down to enjoy our silverside sandwich with pickel, what there was of it and my wife's sandwich was supposed to be roast beef with pickel. Their sign said what each row of sandwich was however no roast beef. To top it off the sandwiches were old. We left quickly after being served disappointed with our second visit. First and last visit. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day but I'm not willing to find out.

I went up there to get some kind of cakey treat to reward myself for a work accomplishment. There was very little of anything except drinks. The employee asked me what I was doing? Ahhh... looking? Trying to decide what I want from the few things available (since I was already there). He then said, and I quote, "It's just because you seem to be looking at everything". I was. Is that not allowed? At that point, I didn't want to hand them my money. In his defence, he clearly realised he'd come across as accusatory and said, "You can look at anything." Well, thanks for your permission. I left at that point.

Sadly we attended today the lovely blonde lady that was cooking under huge pressure due to lack of staff to see being abused by a fellow Staff member that clearly was pissed being called in was atrocious. This young lady was nothing but doing everything she could do given her situation and to be a customer witnessing such appalling behaver is terrible. I give my hat off to you the burgers were lovely. Hold your head high you deserve so much better dont let someone like this bring you to tears. And to the mouthy person u need some etiquette and staff management skills coming from someone who has owned their own food...
