The oiliest waste of $100 Absolutely disgusting My parents and I thought we’d stop in for dinner as there aren’t too many decent places around so we tend to stay at home and cook most of the time and this was a perfect reminder as to why. Absolutely no love or effort put into even one dish we had. The garlic bread was undercooked and tasted as though they’d forgotten the garlic entirely. There was enough oil on my fish to varnish every table in the establishment and the deck. The $45 steak was more than half grizzle and fat and the batter on everything in the fisherman’s basket was utterly inedible. We’ve all come home feeling physically ill due to an old oil overdose. Have never had such an awful dining experience. Absolutely vile. Wouldn’t step foot in the place again if I was paid to.

Very enjoyable beer garden for a delightful tasting lunch. Great view of the Macleay River, sitting in the sun on a winter's day. My dog enjoyed laying near, she liked a tiny bit I gave her of my Sirloin steak, so got the approval from both of us. I suggest if taking your fur buddy to bring their own bowl and bottle of water. My elderly mum enjoyed her Barramundi.

Great food, awesome location on the river brilliant service I highly recommend. This is our go-to place in the area for lunch, never disappoints, plus amazing! Table service is so refreshing that you don't have those dam buzzers. Congratulations on great food and service.

I would like to thank everyone at the Riverview Restaurant at Smithtown Hotel. We are locals and drop in from time to time. The food and the service has been so good that our family has been back three times in the last month. The first lunch was a recon, and it delightful on a beautiful sunny day dining outside by the river. It convinced me to celebrate my Birthday and invite our friends, where we discovered the Devil's Lair, Margaret River Chardonnay! Today we returned for our 38th Wedding Anniversary with our children. On all three occasions the service has been prompt, the staff affable and the food extraordinary - I particularly liked the Moroccan Chicken with Avocado and Mango Salsa on Couscous. The Fish meals are always fresh and seafood cooked to perfection. Today were treated to a surprise gift from Management for our Anniversary, it was unexpected and an absolute delight. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all, thank you everyone, for a job well done. We...

Beer was cold, but I can also get it cold anywhere... My friend (whom is a coward and didn’t want to write this review) had the Beef and Black Bean which was pretty damn bad. He just said he’d receive more flavour chewing on a piece of wet cardboard.

Now , I’ve had some really pleasant dining experiences at the Smithtown Riverview in the past, and I’m sorry to have that fine record now marred. I sincerely hope that some amendments are made to the menu (which was a piece of microsoft word graphic design genius..) and quality of the food itself. It’s 2019, pull ya socks up Smithtown, you can do better, I know you can.

Sincerely

Your...
