So I was staying around the corner at The Oceania Crest Hotel. My mum and I decided to give it a try as we had a long day driving around. Okay, so yeah from the other reviews, it's not a quick 5 minutes. But saying that it wasn't a problem. Whilst I was there, there was a few people that had pre phone ordered, like I said I was staying around the corner so I placed my order and was told it take 30mins so I just went back to my room till time. So the meal, the food was nice and freshy made. I got sweet n sour chicken, king prawns & mushroom and ribs in plum sauce. I was happy with my meal, i should have asked if the sweet n sour chicken was battered or not as it wasn't. I'd have preferred battered, but that's a personal choice. I would have tried something different and I bet whatever I have gotten I'd have been happy. Since I've been in Australia 10+years, this one I'll give my top 3.

I ordered 3 main meals just before 6pm on a Tuesday night. 15 minutes was the estimated time to prepare the food. I arrived 15 minutes later and the food was ready. The price was very reasonable. The portions were a good size. The food was definitely not bland as stated by other reviewers. The food was fresh and there was plenty of meat in each. I ordered a chicken, prawn and a beef dish. My order was correct, as I ordered it. There is no dining in at the restaurant. There is ample off street parking.

Yep agree, you would have had tastier Chinese, its ok though on the whole. Does remind me of a 70/80s motel restaurant, tarted up with a few Chinese trinkets Does get busy with take aways, pay to get in quick after opening with phone order to avoid potential delays on weekends.

Good quality, generous portions, fair prices. Hugely popular. After driving around Victor Harbor looking for food due to such a poor selection at McCracken Resort ( Baudins closed, limited menu at the grill , not enough room to feed all the guests due to covid restrictions), we discovered the Emerald nearby. Staff friendly and helpful, the food is in huge demand, luckily we were first through the door. We are well used to Asian cuisine, this is good, but very Australianised. - Translate this as, if you are not Asian you will think this food is terrific.. more used to Yum Cha and so forth, still good and definitely good value for money. The building used to be a restaurant before Covid, now only takeaway. And if you have the misfortune to be staying at McCracken, make sure to ask for cutlery with your take away food as there is only a tea cup and saucer and teaspoon to eat with back in your room at...

Staying around the corner for the weekend, thought I’d just go for a walk and get dinner on the first night. I couldn’t believe that one restaurant could give me such a mixed experience. The food was delicious, inexpensive and large serving sizes, the young man working the counter was great, helpful and polite. The mixed experience came from the behaviour and attitude of the teenage girl (who must be the owners daughter), never have I heard such poor customer service and abuse directed at the young man working the counter. Swearing, derogatory comments, and just a general bad attitude all in view and earshot of customers (including kids). Really put me off going back or referring anyone I know. Feel so sorry for anyone who has to put up with this treatment, a big wake up call awaits this young lady when she branches out from under her...
