Mint Cafe Whyalla — Restaurant in South Australia

The way you make the eggs will always let down your dish. There was no proper technique with the eggs. Microwaved maybe? I ordered smashed avo. It was more like a mix of avo thinly spread in toast. Individually the rest of the ingredients were good and tasty however the way it’s presented is NOT user friendly. Too much balsamic on the presentation which interfered with the eating of it and what was on the plate. I was offered no spoon despite there being baked beans on the plate in a bowl. By putting a thin spread of avo and what looked like spinach pressed onto it means I have no options in how I use the toast which I quite like to use to dip with baked beans. The ambience is good and allows for all different kinds of dining needs. The staff were pleasant and kind. For the price of the dish I expect a better eating experience. I had a few meals here. They have spacious outdoor sitting areas as well as indoor sitting area. They even provided rugs and pillows for outdoor sitting as there is a big grass area outside at the back. What a wonderful idea!

The customer service was good, staff were friendly and helpful. I tried the chocolate banana smoothie with seafood basket at lunch time. It was yummy. And I had a raspberry white chocolate cheesecake, it was yummy too.

The last time I went there we had a staff breakfast. I had Mint Breakfast, it had a big serve and everything in the plate was yummy. I had a berry smoothie, it was OK, couldn't taste much of the berry flavour.

Overall I had good experiences here, it is a lovely cafe. They can write names/words on your coffees too, you might be surprised what they are going to write...

Best cafe in town! I came here every week as a student & continue to frequent whenever possible. Pam is an outstanding worker and has been for years, going back to when Mint was the Aroma Cafe. The new additions to the team are also always friendly, helpful, and appreciative of regulars and newcomers alike. The food is always fresh, plentiful, and timely and the decor is perfect for a lunch meeting, catching up with friends, or just hanging out with a good book.
