Previously we raved about this place, not today. We sat indoors, they had a band playing in the garden but kept the doors opened which was a shame as you hardly hear your companion talk over the noise of the band and other diners talking loudly over the band, it also meant that we were constantly annoyed by flies ans even a European wasp! My son ordered the burger (he had placed as best in Adelaide) and requested no fat on the bacon and for extra crispy bacon, he forgot to say no pickles but that was his fault; the almost just cooked bacon with unrendered fat was definitely the cooks fault. He had to pick off the bacon, which was mostly adhered to the cheese, so his cheese went with it. The picture attached is off what went back to the kitchen. I had the ocean trout with lemon caper rosti, wilted spinach and hollandaise sauce. The skin of the fish was not crispy but slid off the flesh, I ate one bone then found another. The rosti was hard to cut into and also seemed to hold oil. The proportions of small rosti, to quite a lot of spinach and a decent serve of fish was out; the rosti needed to be bigger in size or have two IMO. We had the onion rings and sweet potato fries which were fine. We also had 2 x lemon , lime and bitters then ordered a jug of the same, which equates to another 3 drinks (thats all we poured out if the jug, the rest was ice.) There was a 15% surcharge for a public holiday, which is fine but it seemed that the care factor of food preparation was way lower. Total cost of the very disappointing meal for 2 was $135. This experience has turned us off returning, which is a shame as we held this place in high regard and had been looking forward to treating ourselves today.

At the Oakbank Hotel, our family had a ball, A dinner that catered to one and all. The chicken burger was a flavorful delight, Juicy and tender, a true taste bud's flight. The steaks were cooked to perfection, oh so divine, Each bite so tender, it made our taste buds shine. From medium-rare to well-done, they nailed it right, A carnivore's dream, a true steak lover's delight. The atmosphere was cozy, the vibe so warm, A place where families gather, creating memories to swarm. The staff were friendly, attentive, and kind, Ensuring our dining experience was one of a kind. So if you're seeking a place for a family affair, Head to Oakbank Hotel, you won't have a care. With chicken burgers and steaks that'll make you swoon, It's the perfect spot to create memories that'll last till the moon! 🍔🥩🌙✨

I recommend booking ahead as the hotel is very busy and only had one spare table when we were there. We were seated by the owner who’s very friendly and passionate about food. We ordered the rib special, $22.00 for ribs, slaw and fries, food was good but ribs were a little cool. I had the chocolate self saucing pudding for desert which is made every morning by the owner and is delicious, my only criticism could be it came with cream out of a can, real cream would have been a lot nicer to compliment the beautiful ice cream and decadent pudding. All in all a delicious meal and great hotel.

The customer service is terrible. I went out for dinner with my family, we all ordered steaks and when they came to the table all the sauces were on the wrong plates which resulted in a lot of confusion with people receiving the right meals. Everyone had ordered their steaks done medium, when I finally got a steak, which was not my order but I didn’t want to put them out so I took it, it was cooked well done with a medium flag. It was very dry and not pleasant to eat so I let them know that it was over cooked and they said they would cook a new steak. I waited 20 minutes and when it finally arrived I had no salad, so I called over the waitress (the lady with the red streaked hair) and asked for the salad. She then bought out a ramekin of dry lettuce, by the time I realised it was just lettuce they were busy delivering another tables meals so I again waited to find out what was happening with my salad. When the waitress again came over she snapped at me that I had eaten all of the salad on my original plate so that is all I was getting. I told her that I had not eaten the salad, I had tipped the ramekin of salad onto the plate, to which she just put her hands on her hips and stared at me. By this stage I was so embarrassed and disgusted with the service that I just asked for a take away and didn’t even eat my dinner. We are regulars here, going every 6-8 weeks with 10 adults in our group and spend about $600, everyone witnessed this and have agree that it will be a long time until we go back again. The food is always good but no one deserves to be treated so...

Here's a review for Oakbank Hotel: A Truly Delightful Experience at Oakbank Hotel! My recent visit to the Oakbank Hotel was an absolute pleasure from start to finish! We kicked things off with their chicken wings, and let me tell you, they were incredibly yum and delicious – perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. For my main, I indulged in the Moroccan lamb, and it was nothing short of absolutely amazing. The meat was tender, the spices were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a delight. The staff's recommendation for a wine pairing was spot-on, complementing our meals beautifully and enhancing the overall dining experience. Beyond the fantastic food and drink, the atmosphere was friendly and incredibly welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease. The staff truly stood out – vibrant and welcoming, they made us feel right at home with their excellent service and genuine warmth. Oakbank Hotel offers a wonderful combination of delicious food, great wine, and a fantastic ambiance, all delivered by a top-notch team. I can't recommend it highly enough and can't...
