My partner and I came here for a late valentines dinner and were super excited as the menu seemed enticing and the views on the beachside looked beautiful from what we could see from the photos. They had a new specials menu that we thought sounded wonderful. I had the market fish and my partner had the barramundi that was on the specials menu. Unfortunately we were utterly disappointed when my partners barramundi came out as it was a very small portion for $33. The whole meal itself was below average & quite frankly we could not see the vision with the strawberry (with the leaves still on), feta, croutons & barramundi. It didn’t go well together what so ever but knowing it was a specials menu i assumed it was an experimental dish and didn’t want to judge so harshly. It lacked refinement in the kitchen. The barramundi was cooked nicely but the skin lacked in a lot of flavour & was burnt. The market fish on the other hand was nice, nothing special but was much more filling and flavourful for a cheaper price. For dessert we had the chocolate sphere (also on the specials menu) and unfortunately again was severely disappointed. The lady had come out with the “hot” chocolate sauce to pour over for the sphere to melt but we sat there awkwardly watching nothing happen. I had to crack it open with my spoon & inside was a very small piece of sad looking cake. The chocolate of the sphere was THICKKKK!! Which made sense to why it didn’t melt through. We couldn’t even finish half of it because it was unbearably sweet and the thick chocolate was in the nicest way possible a fail. I’ve worked in waitressing myself and know how it works, don’t send your youngest worker to harass us twice about how the food is. I strongly believe that there a certain times to ask that question. Nor send her over whilst mid convo & eating our dessert to make us scan a barcode to review the place which ive never had to do anywhere before. I had to put my spoon down and stop my conversation to do something that wasn’t necessary. She was absolutely lovely (hence the 3 star review for service) and I bet (from experience) she was asked to keep checking on us, which was odd considering no one else was being hassled over & over or asked to scan a code to review the place. Overall the people seemed lovely whom i had talked too, the view was beautiful but the food was very below average ESPECIALLY for the $$. There is always improvements to be made. This is a long review oops sorry. Regardless, thankyou...
Read moreMy partner and I had dinned in for dinner here. We were quite excited from the previous reviews we saw, the photos of the meals as well as the photos for the new special board and also exited for the nice view of the ocean. When we got there I wasn’t very impressed with the set up of the dinning area, it felt like they just got a big room and chucked a bunch of tables and chairs in with no decorations, it felt very plain and no real excitement. But yet again the view was nice, and my partner and I got a table up against the window for a nice view towards the ocean, where we enjoyed each others company. My partner got the market fish, which was crumbed hake fish with chips and salad, the price was reasonable for the amount they gave us and it tasted just like you would think and what we expected. Her cocktail (can’t remember the name) costed $22 and was just plain and boring. Tasted nice but was nothing like a cocktail at all, it was also very over priced for what I believe. I got a Sparkling Shiraz from Langhorne Creek, it was served to me in a champagne flute. It tasted very nice and I much enjoyed the wine but my meal was quite the opposite. I got the Barramundi which was from the special board. The Barramundi was plane with no seasonings what so ever. The distasteful strawberry salad that was with the barramundi tasted off putting and did not go well with the barramundi. I was also very displeased with the serving size as it didn't even get close to filling me up and went and got KFC afterwards to finished the job. Then I thought the price of the barramundi was outrageous coming in at $33 when the meal size was smaller than a kids chicken nuggets and chips meal at most pubs. To finish off our main meal we thought we would try the chocolate sphere for our desert to share. On the description of the meal it said “watch your desert appear when the caramel sauce is poured over”. So it came out in a bowl sitting on a pile of crushed shortbread, did not look appealing at all but I was still excited to see my desert appear. They poured the sauce over the sphere and it turned into a long awkward wait as the very thick chocolate sphere held strong against the hot caramel sauce. We had about two bites each and we were done. It was very over powering with the sweetness and felt sick straight away. Other then that, we had a good time with each other, but sadly will not be going back for...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted at the cost, service and quality of the meal we were just served up. Didn't take a photo because I was too shocked at what was served up. We ordered Pork Belly with pumpkin puree, wilted spinich and Hollandaise sauce & 2 soft drinks to the value of just under $70! Where do I start, when greeted at the door the owner (?)/staff member was scruffy and dirty. When we were seated at our table the black table cloth had left over food on it from the previous customers (covered over with a side plate - in front of me, not to the left like any normal restaurant!). When ordering drinks my partner asked what beers they have, he was told "The clientele that come here drink wine" - excuse me! How rude! When our food came out the Pork Belly wasn't cooked properly as the fatty part was sloppy, watery & white. The crackling was not crunchy but chewy. The wilted spinich was smothered in oil and I pooled on the plate. The pumpkin puree was more like a soup & the jug of Hollandaise sauce was the smallest jug you've ever seen. All apart from the Pork was cold. We told the waitress and all she said was "Sorry about that!" When the owner/chef saw my partner complaining to the waitress, he bolted out the back. Needless to say, we left most of it and walked...
