Gone Fishin’ Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Sunset Beach

I don't know what's happened to this business since the last time I ordered from here, but this experience was enough to make me never return. Ordered the family variety pack which is $90 and it is supposed to serve 4 people only enough fish for 3 people as the servings were tiny (no bigger than about 3 fish fingers stuck together). Ordered extra serve of snapper at $18 and it was worse again extremely tiny piece does not weight the minimum weight it claimed on menu. Tried to order other things for people that don't eat fish and they had nothing in the way of stock to cater for people that don't eat fish. Chips were dry, squid rings were undercooked and rubber like in texture, all batters fell off everything as it was drowned in oil. the only enjoyable part of my dinner was the lemon I bought from iga. After a couple of bites to try and find something edible it went to the dog. The dog at about half of what was there and left the rest (not a fussy dog). Total waste of over $150. Very disappointed. Clearly the new owners Staff are not upholding the same level of great customer service and food portion standards to the original owners. The customer service was abrupt and not hospitable at all. When we requested for grilled fish, we were told we don't do that and no alternative option offered. We asked about their serving size of chips for 3 adults and what is recommended, and was told $5 would be enough. Sadly this was not enough of a serving size for 3 adults. The serving sizes used to be great value for money, but now the portion size of chips has significantly reduced along with the sizes of snapper, which were also really small. I rang to order dinner the girl asked me to hold a moment. 15 minutes later I'm still on hold so my brother in law goes there to order. Mentions it to lady she says no one was on phone! LIE! He comes home with 3 pieces of shark and chips, we open the fish wrapping and it's all small pieces of fish that are not cooked well enough and all floury and soggy inside. The chips were dark brown well and truly over cooked. For $55 it was disappointing especially as we are here on holidays. We could not ring to complain as it was closed. Will not go...
