My first disappointing experience here last night. Word of advice: when ordering dinners, request a receipt (as it won't be offered) and CHECK IT. Have been here many times over the years and always enjoyed friendly staff and great food and service, until last night. Even then the food was good, when it eventually arrived, but when a family books a birthday dinner they don't generally expect one person (would have been the birthday guest but I handed mine over to them) to sit without a meal while the rest of the table is urged to eat before it goes cold. Mistakes happen, I understand that, but this was totally preventable and frankly could have been handled a lot better. There were 6 of us, and my 2 adult sons accompanied me to make the orders. On the way back (having paid cash and not been offered a receipt) I start pointing in the air towards the table. One son "what are you doing mum?" "Just counting heads making sure we've ordered the right number of dishes." "You've ordered 3 traditional parmies, 2 Pumpkin ones and a snapper, we've got 6 people, relax." Good. So out come 3 traditional parmies, 1 pumpkin and the snapper. I thought the guy just didn't have enough hands and was heading back to the kitchen for the other parmy but next thing he returns with an accusatory tone asking did I actually pay for another meal. I was shocked and replied, "I believe so but I paid cash and wasn't given a receipt so how can I prove that?" And the girl who served me did not repeat the order like usually happens when you eat out before giving me a total. So he comes back again several mins later with a table order from the register listing only 5 meals. Do you still want another one? Well yeah. At this point I tell my family to start eating before theirs go cold (not fun when we were there to celebrate the birthdays of both my husband and my son). Then the bloke comes back with an eftpos machine and wants me to pay for another meal before he puts the order in! Needless to say, most of my family had finished by the time my meal arrived. You'd think the least they could have done was bring me a free drink or SOMEthing while my family ate and I waited on the kitchen (who actually did a good job with the cooking, it's not their fault). But my gripe is a) had the order been repeated I'd have picked up the mistake straight away b) had I been given a receipt I'd have picked it up on the way back to the table c) a little tenderness goes a long way and this old bloke definitely came across like I was trying to scam a meal that I didn't pay for. He certainly didn't know what a smile or an apology was. So it was very disappointing considering I know they have done a lot better...
Read moreMyself and my lady frequent the Creek Tavern quite often for quite a few good reasons. I've eaten there on countless occasions over the years and it is a very rare thing to be given a meal your not satisfied with considering the price you pay,What I have noticed is the staff will always ask you during your meal if everything is alright. They make it there priority to make sure everything is OK,Also please note they won't annoy you during your meal they will only ask you the one time just to confirm with you that your satisfied.Make no mistake if your not happy with your meal they will rectify the problem ASAP. Like anybody who runs a good business they want the feedback . Pardon the pun.I would recommend this tavern to anyone with a kind nature as you are always made welcome from the friendly patrons and great staff. So if you haven't tried it out make sure you do. .PS The beer is chilled to perfection also.bon appetite and...
Read moreWe were here for a birthday party. Someone ordered a garlic bread and the waitress asked if anyone ordered it, however the person that did was not at the table at the time so we didnt reply because we weren't sure. She said "well, someone did' and plonked it straight on the table loudly.
We then asked about the schnitzel sizes because the small and the large looked the same. The same waitress came over and said "the small are thinner on a small plate, the large are thicker on a large plate" and then walked away.
The schnitzel sizes are the same thickness... which we were trying to tell her but she never gave us a chance to say what we were complaining about before she walked away.
In a sense, If you dont want to cook, order McDonalds or Dominos, You'll get better service!
The terrible service ruined the night... The 20 people that joined us also agreed we will not...
