We had a really lovely experience at this cafe! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service was genuinely exceptional — warm, attentive, and personal in a way that’s becoming increasingly rare.

I had originally ordered the pumpkin soup, but after a short wait, the lovely waitress came over to let me know they had unfortunately run out. Rather than just leaving it at that (as many places might), she brought me the menu again and kindly tried to help me find something else I’d enjoy. I didn’t feel like eating anything else at the time, so I just asked for a prana chai instead.

When I went up to pay, I was pleasantly surprised — they didn’t charge me for the tea as a gesture of goodwill for the soup being unavailable. It wasn’t something I expected at all, and it left such a positive impression. It’s those small, thoughtful touches that really set a place apart.

Generous portion sizes, my partner had the chicken wrap. Caring service, and a team that clearly values their customers — I’ll definitely be back....

Bad experience this morning. Solo diner waiting on a friend who arrived late. Initially sat outside (1st table). Moved to inside table (2nd table) when it became available. Then told it was actually reserved so moved to another table (3rd table). Needed to use toilet and engaged staff who assured me table would be held. Left unfinished coffee on the table. Returned to find table taken and coffee gone (also then told that table 3 was actually reserved). Was shown to another table (table 4). Within 5 minutes was told that table 4 was actually also reserved and would I move again to another very small corner table (table 5). I then became understandably upset and said it would be my last move. After my friend arrived late a replacement coffee finally arrived (small and mine had been a large). I obviously will never return to 8 Knots Bayview and neither will my friend, both of us locals. Disgusting treatment. Advise people to stay away. Several other better...

This weekend I had the pleasure of dining at 8 Knots cafe in Bayview and I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. From the moment I walked in, the exceptional customer service left me feeling welcomed and cared for. The breakfast with friends and the lunch platter boxes for us to take onto the boat were absolutely amazing . Each item was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. It was clear that the team at 8 Knots put a lot of thought and care into each dish. The cafe's atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to catch up with friends or simply relax with a good book. Above all, I appreciated the dedication to customer satisfaction displayed by the staff, particularly Sunny, he went above and beyond to ensure that my visit was nothing short of amazing. I cannot recommend 8 Knots cafe enough, and I look forward to my next visit. Thank you for a truly outstanding...

8 Knots has everything - location, great food, and above all, such wonderful people running it. We've dined here a few times lately and the staff are just amazing looking after my elderly dad. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Food comes out fast, and is superb value for the quality, especially the salads. They also have no problems coping with dietary issues. The coffee is very good, and tea comes in a pot, with a proper cup and milk. The tables mostly look back to the road, but right next to you is a small park with the perfect view straight up Pittwater to Lion Island. There's a small amount of free parking out front, or paid council parking (free to locals). A fantastic local gem.

Probably one of the best cafes in the area. Coming down from Kuring-Gai West Head walk, tried this spot for brunch. Ample parking (but still pretty busy), staff in friendly (I spilled water on my table, they were happy to help without any fuss or looks), and food is okay, coffee is great <3 Plenty of dogs in the cafe <3 it has a busy vibe and fast moving, sunny but they put the blinds down if you request :) I'd recommend.
