Very dissappointing. My wife went there and said the food was great. So next weekend we both decided to go to this place so I can try the food as well. On 5.3.2021 (Friday), we got there by 9:35pm. We were told unfortunately the kitchen was closed and we could not dine in. We were dissappointed but understood that maybe they close the kitchen early because eatery closing time was 10pm.
Next weekend again we went there on 12.3.2021. This time we got there early by 9:15pm. Again we were told by the same gentleman (skinny guy on the counter) that the kitchen was closed and we could not dine in. We know the closing time for this place is 10pm. I told that gentleman that I came here last week and the kitchen was closed so this time I came a bit early this week. He also confirmed that he recognises me from the previous week.
Having not been able to eat at that place despite making efforts twice to get there within the closing time is just ver dissappointing. My wife was also very dissappointed as she previously had a good experience at the restaurant. We generally spread good word of mouth to alot of our family and friends to support small business'. But in this case, I will not be doing so. Infact I will advise them not to attend this eatery given the bad experience we had twice.
I generally don't leave bad reviews but this time around, it just seems to be the right...
Read moreAlthough I live close to Manly I travel all around Sydney for work and LOVE my middle Eastern food, specifically Charcoal chicken. I have tried them all and I think this is one of the best. The skin at first did not appear to be as crispy but when I bit into it was just right. The flavour was excellent and the breast meat was quite moist (I usually only order leg and thigh but went for a whole chook to take some home) where most charcoal chicken I find the white meat is quite dry and almost a write off. My partner is vegetarian and the falafels were top notch, fluffy on the inside with a thin crisp layer on the outside and lots of flavour. Dips and sauces were great, eggplant not too smokey, great chips just lightly salted and heaps of pickles and breads. Great Italian coffee and they make there own deserts which looked great but we didn't partake. What really separates this place is the effort in the new re-design and decor. Really nicely furnished and decorated and part of the service area comes out into the sun. Really nice bathrooms where my inter design partner even commented on the tiles! Completely different from your run of the mill charcoal chicken shops with great service and an upmarket feel without an increase in prices...
Read moreOne Saturday night, our family came for dinner. There were no niblies brought out at any time. The food took a while to arrive. When the food eventually did come, the meat eaters amongst us enjoyed the nicely cooked kebabs - except for the fact that the amount of meat itself was just inadequate. My vegetarian sister also found things very limited - two tiny amounts of dip and the cauliflower dish. The $89 "special" plate (and other dishes) were amazingly poor value for money with a stunningly small amount of food on the plate. We ran out of bread twice because in the absence of enough meat, dip etc, we all just filled up on bread. The place was badly understaffed and consequently staff were in a rush pretty much all the time. Finally, the place was freezing cold with doors letting in winter air. Very strange place all round. There are much better dining options elsewhere. The bill for $220 stung. Terrible value for money. Not...
