Spare me the PR fluff. No amount of “ambience” or “table service” justifies charging more than double what other respected Turkish sweet shops charge for the exact same product. You’re not serving this pistachio roll on a gold plate, and there’s nothing revolutionary about your “dine-in experience” except the audacity to charge a premium for it. This whole “we use premium ingredients” line is tired. So do the other places, some of them have been perfecting this stuff for generations without ripping people off or hiding behind empty justifications. Also, it’s laughable to claim you offer kilo pricing but only for takeaway. What kind of backwards logic is that? A kilo is a kilo whether I’m sitting or standing. You're not a fine dining restaurant. You're a sweets shop in Granville. Please don’t embarrass yourself further by using ChatGPT to write your replies. It’s obvious when someone hides behind AI generated wording to mask a weak argument.

I came here with a female friend of mine and I left feeling completely ripped off. They’re charging $8 for one single piece of pistachio roll (sarma baklava) – something that’s sold for $3.50 to $4 at other well-known Turkish sweet shops around Sydney. And to make it worse, the price per kilo is listed as $70, but they won’t let you actually buy it by the kilo and eat it in store. You’re forced to buy per piece if you want to sit down, which makes zero sense. We’re talking about a small piece of dessert here it’s it’s pistachio and pastry. I don’t mind paying more for quality, but this felt like straight up price gouging. Plenty of other places serve the same thing, just as fresh, for half the price and without the strange rules. Honestly, I won’t be coming back. It’s not about the $8 it’s the principle. Charging that much for something so small, with no dine-in flexibility, just leaves...

If you're looking for some sweets give this place a miss , I know the bar for quality food is low in Granville but this place makes the Maccas on woodville road look appealing. The baklavas I ordered today cost me $32 for about 9 pieces and frankly they looked amazing but tasted absolutely terrible (dry and stale). I had a variety of different ones Nutella , walnut , biscoff , Dubai and the standard Baklava but nope they were all dry , stale and honestly enough to turn me off Baklavas forever ( i dont even know how you screw up a baklava and make it still taste gross when its covered in chocolate but congrats u did it). I've had better Baklavas from average Kebab shops (I wish I was lying) and woolworths (2 doors down) actually sells a tray of Baklavas for $18 from Ablas which is almost half the price and double the quality. I'm not sure what game this place is playing but they need to get out of the Baklava game immediately as they are bringing shame upon the name. I really wanted to love this place and support local business but clearly they aren't tasting what they are serving or being competitive with what they are charging. Note: this was the 3rd random time I came here hoping the 2 other times were just bad days but all 3 times have been bad...

At first I had nothing bad to say about this place even though their sweets are not all that it is hyped up to be. I’ve been here 5 times in total. The first 4 times was because the place is conveniently located close to home and it’s something different to places like Oliver Brown.

However the 5th time I went here, I was with a friend. We ordered and sat down. About 10 minutes past and we were wondering what was taking so long, but we figured we’d wait another 5 minutes before we got up to ask. Within that time, a couple who had come in after us had gotten served before us. So we decided to get up and find out what was going on.

We were assured they had our order and it’d be coming out ASAP. Another 15-20 minutes had past and still nothing, everyone else we saw come in after us still getting served and us sitting there waiting on some tea and sweets that are sitting in the window. Literally everything was ready, it’s not like they had to make a new batch of anything.

For someone’s who’s sweets taste are below average and feel like they’ve been made a few days ago, not to mention prices are pretty high considering what they’re serving, they have a lot of confidence thinking they won’t lose customers.

Needless to say we got...

The gozleme was the only nice food Cigar borek was just like cheese spring rolls, didn't look like the picture. The girl taking orders was so unprofessional No welcome no smile and they don't even listen they drop the food on the table and leave. When she brought in a wrong item I was telling her she just said yeah potatoe poca and left !!! The knafeh was sooooo bad Really crunchy at the bottom full of syrup a 0 out of 10 even my 5 year old who loves knafeh didn't like it and didn't finish it I've had alot of knafeh so I know what to compare it to. Cheap oil used, weird cheese and way too crunchy at the bottom that doesn't cut. Telling the waiter it's really not a good knafeh she just walked away without even saying a word. Babycino, was just warm milk with tiny bit of choc powder for $3 but they charged us $4, no marshmallows no proper chocolates or more choc powder and not even froth!! Really felt ripped off bad food and bad service. I wouldn't have left a review if they had listen to our feedback. Side note we didn't try their baklava could be good but with the service we got no way we will ever be back or recommend anyone to come

Below is a summary of the good points: - Turkish coffee is always done well; - Peri Peri chicken gözleme has changed the gözleme game forever (my go to dish); - the Su börek is done well (for when one wants something small on the side); - great selection of baklava for the sweet tooth (my go to dish here is Chocolate baklava or Choclava); - owners / staff are quite friendly; and - the coffee cups used are a proper quality (other places I have been to use a cheap or non-authentic Turkish cup - this place pays attention to detail) - for the people that like their aesthetics. A good place to bring people for breakfast (as their kaymak is their own recipe). The owners have a great sense of humour and really knew how to make me feel welcome in the area. P.S. Just came in for father's Day too - had the Nutella gözleme (yum), staff handled the busy setting very well and breakfast on point as usual. The family also liked the peri Peri chicken as well as the potato gözleme.
