After arriving the table was completely broken and very unsuitable and very dangerous. After consulting with the waiter staff she refused to move us to another table only saying should could place napkins under table to try and make it more stable. After pointing out this would not work as it was the table head itself that was broken and not the stand. It was a OHS issue as anything hot could tip over and I could end up been burnt and they could end up been sued. The waiter still refused to do anything but say place napkins under it. After several minutes of consulting and telling her there was no way anyone could eat or let alone have a drink on this table without it spilling everywhere we finally got to speak to the manger, who funny enough had a spare table he could change us to. I know it been Father's Day the place was alittle busier than normal but having to wait 45minutes for your meal is alittle annoying to say the least. I had the Archibald burger which was bearly warm and raw. My fathers burger was completely cold. I pointed out my burger pattie to the waiteress when she came to collect our plates saying she would let the chef know. She returned to say that she showed the chef he said the pattie was medium rare and it is stated on the menu and if I wanted it well done I needed to tell them. That's all and fine to say I could of told you I wanted it well done but I expected it to be medium / rare not RAW and this pattie was RAW NOT RARE. Myself and my father didn't even get the onion rings that was clearly stated on the menu that gets served with the Archibald burger Completely disappointed at the waiter service and the chefs lets just say TOTALLY ANNOYED AND COMPLETELY APPALUED AT THE LEVEL OF SERVICE GIVEN TODAY. Arguing with the customers when there was free tables available and then to serve crappy cold raw food I know we won't be coming back, McDonald's is a much...

My partner and I visited the Archibald Hotel today around 11:30 and had such a wonderful experience. We got there with no booking (no where suggest you had to book) and we got a table straight away from the lovely guy who greeted us, he gave us a table with such an amazing view and even though the table we were given was reserved for someone at 1pm, they still went out of their way to accommodate us.
The food was delicious and so well cooked, my partner got the chicken burger and loved it and the chicken breast I had was cooked perfectly. The garlic bread could of been a bit more crispy but such a minor critic compared the wonderful view, great staff who were lovely and accommodating and so so welcoming as they juggled with making sure everyone was in correct areas and the food was so worth the 1.5 hour drive !
Can’t wait to come back again, wished we could have thanked our lovely server, a great guy with the best mo !! but was getting super busy as we left. I’d recommend booking a table if you’re heading up over a Sunday/weekend as it got super busy around 12 to make sure you have a table but other then that, definitely an awesome place to stop off at with such a chilled and relaxed...
Read moreJust had a really gross meal here. Ordered the king prawn pasta (after the bar staff confirmed it was a good choice) and, again on recommendation, the battered flathead. The pasta was absolutely disgusting, the prawns were so over cooked they were grey and disintergrating, while the battered fish was soggy as the batter hadn’t been cooked properly. After struggling through a couple of mouthfuls of soupy overcooked pasta (al dente seems to be a foreign concept here), we decided to take it back to the kitchen and give some constructive feedback. Although we clearly stated we didn’t want anything to replace the pasta or any kind of reimbursement for the dish, we weren’t even offered as much as an apology - just an ‘ok’. It should also be said we were the only people in the joint, so I can’t imagine the kitchen was under pressure in any way. The blue mountains is crying out for a good pub and the Archibald has a long way to go if it wants to claim this title - we would never go back. Simplify your menu, and stick to a few things you’re good at instead of offering a huge number of options that you execute...
