๐ŸŒŸ Spent Mother's Day lunch at Roberto's inside Bangor Tavern, and while there were some highlights, our experience was a bit mixed.

We requested a table near the playground, hoping for a nice view while the kids played, but ended up inside, far away with no visibility. When the kids ran to the playground, they found it wet, leaving them with soaked clothes. It would be great if they could dry it off next time or at least put up a caution sign.

Although they promote themselves as family-friendly and offer free kids' meals on Sundays, it was quite unsettling to have UFC playing on the screens. With all the blood and gore, it wasn't the best environment for our little ones, and many nearby families shared the same concerns. Definitely not ideal for a Mother's Day lunch!

On a positive note, the renovations and new aesthetic looked lovely and have the potential for a nice vibe. The pappardelle pasta was a standoutโ€”delicious with well-cooked, tender ragu topped with Parmesan! However, the prawn linguini was too chilli for our taste, and we didn't enjoy it.

The guys with us ordered schnitzels and thought they were average, though the portion sizes were generous. My sister tried the pumpkin ravioli and said it was nice. The kids had a cheeseburger and fish and chips, and they were great sizes and tasty, so our little ones were happy!

Overall, there's potential here, but they might want to rethink some aspects to make it more family-friendly.

I have lived in the Menai area for 37 years now and I have experienced and dealt with many Licensees at The Bangor Tavern, in actual fact we have developed strong relationships over the years and become friends. Incidentally I was in the hospitality industry for 30 years selling wine, so I do qualify to have an opinion about hotel/restaurants with my experience. I would just like to post a review to say the current owners of the hotel are second to none however they have been in the hospitality industry for a very long time over 40 years. The Micola family are the real deal and their son Adam, heading up the business with Mum Amanda have really taken our local hotel to another level. The food, the beverage variety, the service, the new facilities and the aesthetic updates are just wonderful. Anyone that is not happy with the enormous progress of this licensed establishment must have either, lost in the TAB by backing a very slow horse and done their cash on the ponies or maybe wasnโ€™t intelligent enough to enter the correct answers on trivia night and lost.

The Tav is extremely user friendly and a great place to spend time with friends.

Go and enjoy, my...

Went to try out the new Robertos tonight with the family. Wonโ€™t be rushing back or recommending for others to. I didnโ€™t find the staff very capable in the kitchen. The cheese garlic bread was undercooked, cold and soggy. Arancini was cold and tasteless. The chicken wings were good, however our plate with 2 left was taken (they did bring us another fresh plate when we told them we werenโ€™t done). Pizza was average, nothing fancy or wood fire tasting, the warm pumpkin salad was not at all warm, a few pieces of small uncooked pumpkin pieces and a whole plate of red cabbage. The ragu pasta was nice at least. For a place that promotes share meals, we had to ask for plates, twice because the first time the staff forgot and then again after entrees were taken we had no plates again. Iโ€™d suggest accessible plates for us to take at our leisure to be better and also cutlery and serviette baskets on tables. Best bit about the dinner was the kids having fun in the play area. Wonโ€™t...

Had our dinner here to try it out for the first time. I had the Nachos with pulled beef and it was pretty disappointing. Had very little pulled beef. Like hardly any. I was picking on it to try find some. Hello beef? You there? Nope. All I kept getting was cheese, sour cream and guacamole. It had nice heat with jalopenos whatever two forkfull I ate. Here's a picture of the Nachos. The Padstow Park Hotel has way better pulled beef Nachos and they're not stingy of the beef either. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the Nachos with pulled beef here. I hope they read this and make a bit of an effort and care with each meal. Hubby had the $40 steak and said it was okay. It was very thin, like as thin as a McDonald's burger patty or a 2min steak and his chips were cold. I do like the ambiance and decor. A lovely local pub for the area for a few drinks and cocktails.

Located at 121 Yala Road, Bangor, New South Wales, Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ. Edit - Bangor Tavern has recently been renovated and I have to say it looks fantastic. I am really impressed and the staff are still very friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious as always. Every Friday Night, thereโ€™s live music ๐ŸŽถ from 6.00pm till late. The Great Beer Garden is also dog ๐Ÿถ friendly! Every Wednesday from 7.00pm, it is Trivia night. From Monday to Friday between 4.00pm to 6.00pm , itโ€™s Happy Hour. Also, Kids eat FREE on Fridays between 5.00pm and 7.00pm and on Sundays. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘ A great little tavern with lovely food for great prices. It has a great vibe to the place making it really nice place to eat and socialise with your friends. My chicken was very tasty and was happy with the service from the staff. Very helpful. Thumbs Up!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š
