Berowra Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

We've been regulars here for as long as I can remember for nearly 20 years and the last few times it's been getting progressively disappointing and our last visit was simply terrible. The oil was obviously well past its use by date.. So the entres were all brown and tasteless as was the Honey Chicken that was so tough and stringy it was completely inedible and was untouched beyond two pieces that were spat out ... The chicken and sweet corn soup was lukewarm and the scallop dumplings were like rubber balls .. $250 later and most dishes were left .. I wasn't even asked if everything was ok and when I politely raised it when paying all I got was "I'll let the kitchen know" .... Never again for us and maybe it's time to retire it's obviously tired and well past...

What a terrible experience. It took almost 2 hours start getting our meal. Even though we were among the first to arrive, waitresses never came to our table to get drink or food order, choosing to spend all their time seating other customers and ignoring us completely and never making any attempt to look around to see if any customers needed anything, instead we had to go to the front desk and place our own order - who ever heard of such disgraceful behaviour. Even after complaining about the lack of service, things hardly improved. The food was pretty average and very overpriced - we paid over $50/person for a banquet with just soft drinks or tea. Why would anyone ever want to dine here? We will...

The wifey and I came in for a nice quiet Sunday dinner and boy were we blown away. We ordered the regular fried rice, sizzling Mongolian lamb, spring rolls, and a chocolate lava cake for dessert and boy were we blown away. Everything substantially exceeded our expectations, even the complimentary prawn chips. The food came quick, boy were the staff were friendly and helpful, and the ambience was serene, with calming music. I would highly recommend this amazing restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious Chinese meal. We were blown away and we left as completely...
