On Wednesday, I was headed to Hurtsville and my GPS said 'Traffic congestion is getting worse'.
So I remembered that about a year ago, I'd met Elvis in another hotel... sorry, I mean a guy who's an Elvis impersonator, and he told me all about St Clair. Raved about the place and the pub.
The next sign said three place names including St Clair. So I peeled off then turned right instead of left. I took the road less travelled, and that has made all the difference.
What. A. Beaut. Pub.
For stacks of reasons, you deserve more than 5 stars.
Maybe 8. Yep, lucky 8.
On Thursday, I was coming back from Hurtsville, I mean, Hurstville ;-) and it was hot enough to fry an egg on my ute roof. If I had a ute. Or some eggs. 🤣
This time, I was staying just a few bloomin' strong 1-woods from the place I now knew is called the Blue Cattle Dog Hotel. 😢😭 I miss my Vegie. Blue/Red cross, 1991-2005. 🐶🐕🐩🐺
So, I didn't waste any time or give myself any other options, I popped Blue Cattle Dog Hotel in the Google Maps and Hyacinth Sybil Royale-Regina* took me straight to your joint.
I set my maps to UK English and now my GPS sounds like I'm in Convent Garden, being given directions by a Sloane Ranger to chuuff off back to her place to see her etchings! 😃😃😃🦊🐱🐯
Anyway, 46mins later, hang the expense, just get me there, I've got a cool schooner in front of me, I'd done $5 on an omen bet from.... dunno. Horse 4 in the nth at Kikatinalong.
Nah, it was Wheelabarraback. Threw me ticket away. 🐴🐎🦄🦓🍖🥩🍯
Then I walked under the beaut play misty for me jets in the gaming room, got a cheap as chips low dose spirits drink frim THE best bartender in all of Western Sydney - and for some pencil necks, that starts at Pyrmont, so let's steer into the skid and call her the best bartender west of The Star. Love ya work, Old Skool Rock n Roll Younger Than My Kids (I'd guess, you don't ask).
I left via the gift shop, I mean, bottle shop and met two more amazing characters. Ask them about Mishka The Moscow Mascot. And Genghis Khan in 1980. They'll be all over it like a rash. And I need to start a new Youtube playlist! Music in sports.
Well, it's Friday which is my Monday. It's 11.36am which means it's 7.36pm in Lexington KY and 00.24am in Ross-On-Wye, Herefords. Hopefully they won't be on my case but others up and running, and like my work shirt and the local wildlife, the cricket's on today.
Time to get to work.
Where do you reckon I'm going for breakfast? Friday. Fish n Chips Day.
See ya when I'm looking at ya!

P.S. The security guys are absolutely gems of gentlemen. J. and V. are two the nicest blokes you could ever meet in the street, let alone find mingling with the regulars, sorting any trouble if it arises, but mostly making sure it doesn't. Pound it, boys! My fist, that is. What were you...
Read moreWhat a disaster... We came here for a family dinner for the first time in a long time, and i really wanted ribs so i went to the bistro only to be preety mich yelled at by the bistro lady to go order at the bar and read the sign...
So I went to the bar and asked for the ribs And the lady there suggested I try the steak and ribs deal And I decided on that So I ordered that with mash and slaw..
Food came relatively quick but was wrong I received the steak and chicken wings
I really wanted ribs to begin with so I went back to the bar to mention the issue, but was once Again treated like an idiot... The lady bartender told me I ordered the steak and chicken... But then I mentioned to her I wanted ribs and she was the one who suggested steak and ribs .. Then all of a sudden she remembered.
But then she just said well I've paid for the steak and chicken.
I offered to pay the difference so I could get the ribs I wanted but she said she couldn't do it.. So disappointingly I just stuck with it.
The steak was ok The slaw was carot and one peice of celery or something With a watered down mayonnaise basicaly...
Mash was cold
I could go on But there's no point I was treated the same back in February on valentines day Same rude bistro lady And poor service
I don't think I...
Read moreWe stayed in room 11 for 8 nights with 2 queen beds. It has a balcony which was good to let the fresh air in, and a very handy sink and fridge in the room. The bathroom in this room was big and bright but it wasn't very clean and the shower screen was gross with glass cancer. But it was still fine and big and good shower head.||||Housekeeping missed us 3 days which sucked but they gave us towels when we asked. The lady on reception was lovely and helpful but not always there as she works in the restaurant at the same time.||||The beds, sheets and pillows were lovely and clean and comfy as were the towels. Just wish they had provided facewashers too.||||The lights above the bed were all broken and the light above the sink kept flickering which was annoying.||||The place had an undertone smell of smoke which wasn't nice but they covered it well with a pretty strong air freshener. ||||Room wasn't too noisy and the parking was easy.||Was handy having the Coles Express and KFC nextdoor.||||The bistro was a bit overpriced for the food quality but at least you got your fill. And room service was very handy too.||||Overall I really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again if in the area. Just be better if the outside and inside had a good...
