Our experience here was a real disappointment. We lived just down the road from here and really wanted to like it but unfortunately, we were let down by the service and also by the food. First of all, this place was actually more than well staffed judging by the number of waitresses, so much so that they seemed to walk around in pairs. While these girls seemed to earnestly want to do a good job, their incompetence seemed to stand in the way. For example, we ordered a burger and a tuna sandwich (both tasted pretty blah) and were provided cutlery and paper napkins. The bf tucked into the burger with his hands and after a while, the waitress decided to remove his cutlery and napkin and in fact, gave another table his cutlery and napkin! How she could ascertain that the cutlery and napken were clean are beyond me and personally, I think this is extremely unhygienic. Also, while the bf may not have used the cutlery, surely he is entitled to wipe his mouth with a napkin post meal. Secondly, food as mentioned earlier was quite tasteless. Burger tasted unsalted although chips were good. Tuna steak sandwich came with avocado salsa which had boiled egg mashed through (no mention of egg on the menu) and was very heavy handed with onions, could not taste supposed coriander in the salsa. Tuna steak was also quite tasteless. Ciabatta bread for sandwich was very tough and difficult to chew and swallow. Side salad that came with sandwich was undressed so felt like I was eating grass. Finally, when came to the bill, we were overcharged on the tuna sandwich. Waitress didn't know what the price of the sambo was and assumed it was the same as the burger. Her excuse was that prices had gone up recently. Surely these items should be keyed into the register or otherwise wait staff should refer to the menu? Real shame that this place let down in terms of food and service as the ambience is lovely here. Perhaps will come for just a...

The cafe is set in a beautiful open air courtyard. Itâs quiet and feels like a true step away from the busy Oxford street.
The staff were starting to pack up and weâre not too thrilled we arrived with only an hour left on the clock. Either way the barista was helpful and taking our order was easy enough.
The menu is very small (as is the kitchen). Itâs primarily breakfast items and coffee here. Donât expect many sides or unique dishes.
The bagel, the banana bread and the drinks were all good enough but itâs all just very basic. So much more could be done with this space but it seems to get by.
I would return here to enjoy a solo coffee and get some work done. The atmosphere and space itself are whatâs...

The underwood cafe has ample space for prams....explain to me why prams impact business meetings oooooohhhh - so really what they are saying is no babies. pretty terrible...
