I don’t often order pizza from Domino’s but I felt like writing this review based on my last 2 visits to the Carnes Hill store. I used to not like ordering from this store because I would constantly have missing toppings or quite literally inedible pizzas, as well as the previous manager always being quite snappy and just unpleasant to deal with. However, I’ve noticed there seems to be a new manager who’s since changed my perception of the store and overall experience. I don’t know his name but he is a little older than his co-workers and has medium length hair with glasses. If you go in you will easily pick him out.
So my first visit was a few weeks ago, I usually order online and just wait for my order to be made and on this occasion I needed to wait a good 10 minutes. No problem. As I am waiting an elderly man walks into the store and was visibly confused as to the many options on offer. The manager spoke to him like he was speaking to his own grandfather and slowly went through the menu, asking what kind of flavours he liked and recommended what he thought would best suit the mans taste. I thought this was really nice, especially in a high traffic store like domino’s. I also remember actually enjoying my meal for the first time in as long as I can remember eating domino’s so that was definitely a plus.
Anyway fast forward to tonight, I just finished work and wanted something to bring home. Jumped on the app and ordered the Atomic meats pizza, a lava cake, and some pepperoni pizza pots. When I arrived at the store to pick up my order there had been a mix-up and instead of pepperoni pizza pots they made the dessert one. After realising the mistake, the manager took some time to educate the employee who I assume was just new on how to identify the differences of the order in a calm and clear way which I thought was good. He then apologised and offered me a refund or I could wait for a fresh batch, I was in no rush so I went with the latter.
While I’m waiting in the store, people are coming and going and it’s quite a busy night which is understandable, but the manager is not sitting around just delegating tasks, he’s actively getting involved with a hands on approach and helping his staff so they aren’t overwhelmed. I could also hear two of the female employees joking and laughing quite loudly amongst themselves while they worked and my initial thought was that he’d reprimand them to focus and stop talking, I know the previous manager definitely would have. But to my surprise he did no such thing, in fact everyone behind the counter was all smiles which speaks volumes about his management style. Not only that but when my order was finally complete, he even threw in a complimentary garlic bread for the wait.
Now make no mistake, I’m not writing this review because I got some free food. I’m writing it because this kind of leadership should be recognised and celebrated. Not only is the service amazing, but the quality has definitely jumped up too! I got home and my order was still hot, the spicy flavour of the pizza had a great kick, and had a decent amount of toppings too. Whether that’s because the employees look happy at work or some other reason I’ll leave to you to decide. I don’t know your name but if you are reading this, well done. That’s what great leadership is and leading by example is what will have people remember you. Good customer service goes a long way with me, and not just for how I am treated but also other customers. I’ll definitely have to order from this store...
Read moreAbsolute worst service I've ever seen in a place. I had a delivery driver who was supposed to drop off my food and it never arrived. The uber drivers name was "Helen" and probably delivered it at the wrong house, who knows. I called her and no response. I then have to drive up myself to the store for a delivery order and the state of the place was awful:
Upon entering, there was construction during work hours, in which the owner is at fault or whoever assigned the workers I waited a while to get a response from one guy who was the only worker, meaning the owner didn't hire enough employees The employee didn't even introduce himself and all he did with the Uber Order for myself was "Go through your past orders and put a request for your order" He then completely ignored me after no response to Uber themselves, the driver herself and the employee at the time of 12-12:30pm. His offer should of been "We apologise for the inconvenience, let me remake the order right now for you" Now of course he didn't believe me because I didn't have photo proof. Explain to me how you get photo proof of your order not being delivered, do you want me to record outside and say it's a beautiful day? There was nothing at my doorstep and no one answers their phones, including dominoes themselves. Revoking of a place and my money was also wasted for the sake of Ubers fault and no employee consideration of the order because he didn't believe me. What a joke. If I could rate this 0 stars I would, pathetic
This review is edited and seeing that a generated email of a reply not directly from her considerations is appalling. In my opinion, it's lazy management, no care for the customers needs and overall again it's pathetic. Don't bother asking for help because the staff aren't trained properly based off their attitude and care...
Read moreOnline ordered through the app and opted for car park delivery. The pizza on the tracker said they were done when I got to the store. After 10mins of waiting in my car I realised something was off so cause no pizza was coming so I entered the store. When I got into the store to inquire I asked the cashier and she replied that they saw nothing of it on their screens. This wasn't an issue so I put it down to technology. The problem started when they somehow lost one of the pizzas from my order. The other pizzas were left sitting up on the counter for a few minutes while she searched every box in the warmer. The cashier eventually got assistance from one of her co-workers who failed to find it. Eventually she got her supervisor and somehow found it at the bottom of the warmer. Thinking I didn't see it they handed me the missing pizza along with my now 8min cooling on the bench-top pizza. I had a hungry family to feed at home so I didn't bother with arguing. Just wanted to note that the use app combined with the incompetence of the manager including that attitude are the reason this is the last time Domino's will have my business. Handing a customer a pizza from the bottom of the warmer and saying it was made fresh "on time" and hoping I didn't see is now a new low that I have seen at any fast food joint. Don't know what has happened to Domino's but this is the final straw. 1 star isn't low enough for what this shop...
