0 stars for the Owners of the Cafe. My younger sister who started working there March 2024 at 17 years old (now turned 18 years old in May), was FIRED for messaging in sick yesterday at 8:30am before her morning shift which was @10am. The owner responded to the text to still come in as no one to cover her (even though the owner obviously didn’t try to ask anyone to cover the shift) but she was not physically fit to work. And was told she should have messaged her last night if she was sick. My sister only just woke up sick she can’t (let alone anyone) control sickness. I understand it’s frustrating for any business owners when situations like this happen but my sister unfortunately woke up with the flu/sore tummy, evidently coughing and vomiting. My sister did tell the owner she was not physically fit to work which then the owner responded “Today is your last day. We are looking for someone to replace you.” First of all Firing someone over being sick, and who in my opinion was always available and flexible, Always kind, friendly and polite to customers and colleagues is awful leadership. Secondly this was only my sister’s 2nd time being sick within the month. I don’t know if you were having a bad morning or woke up on the wrong side of the bed. But to tell my sister she is fired without a warning or a second chance and over being too sick to come in, really displays the unpleasant work ethic and unfriendly attitude towards their employees. I hope that this review has highlighted the lack of empathy you have shown towards my sister (who is a sweet and bubbly 18 year old) and will negatively affect your cafe’s reputation and that you lose customers and potential employees. Read moreNEVER GOING BACK! I ordered a skim latte from your Bonnyrigg store today (17th December at approx 12.45pm ) When I ordered it, I noticed that a skim cap came up on the register. I double checked with the girl taking my order to make sure it was a skim LATTE. She assured me it was. When the other girl made the coffee, I noticed she put hot chocolate on top and yelled out “skim cap”. I then asked if it was mine because I ordered a latte. Her reply was “it’s yours but it’s a cap”. The other girl that took my order said “oh yeah, it’s meant to be a skim latte”. The girl who made the coffee was sooooo rude, she replied “what’s the difference? It’s only a bit of chocolate on top?” I told her I would have it but it’s not the point. She rolled her eyes and turned her back to me. I told her she was so rude and had no idea about customer service and the other girl even agreed. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I am a VIP member and always get my coffee from FRANKIE AND CO. But I will NEVER get it from BONNYRIGG again! I think you need to reconsider who you hire!
By the way the same thing happened the day before at Edensor Park (which is my local shop) and he was so apologetic and asked if I wanted it remade but I told him it was fine and had the cap. That’s the difference between good and bad...
Read moreTo whoever is reading this I hope you’re doing well! Wish I could give a zero star rating! Went to Frank&Co on the 16/11/21 around 2ish with my baby. I Sat down first with my baby gave him a bottle of milk while I sat there to think about what I wanted to order. As I look up I realised the two girls (one was tall and the other average height) were staring at me and laughing with each other for no reason at all!! So I didn’t think much of of it, I got up to order and I pronounced a pastry wrong!! Nothing wrong with that because I’m not from here but they still stood there in front of me and still laughed with each other in my face!!! I ordered and went back to my table and I looked at them a few times and they were still whispering to each other and laughing at me for completely no reason at all!!! Please consider who you want to hire and leave at the store to service your customers, because what they did was absolutely not right! The girls were probably not training well. 👎 They could have just corrected me about how to say it right for my next visit here! But after today I will not be coming in due to poor service!
