⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – A Hidden Gem Worth the Drive!
If you haven’t been to Glenorie Bakery, do yourself a favour — make the trip. Whether you’re a local or coming in from out of town, this place is hands down one of the best bakery experiences in the Hills District and beyond.
Let’s start with the food: incredible. The pies here are next-level — rich, flaky, and generously filled with quality ingredients. The classics like steak & mushroom or chunky beef are always hot and comforting, but don’t sleep on their specialty pies (the pulled pork and lamb rosemary are unreal). Every pastry I’ve tried — from their buttery croissants to the fresh fruit tarts — has been absolutely delicious. And their sourdough? Elite.
But it’s not just about the pies. The menu variety is huge — burgers, brekkie rolls, loaded chips, milkshakes, fresh juices, artisan bread… everything is made with care and tastes like real food, not just typical bakery fare. It’s hearty, homemade, and honest.
The coffee is spot-on too — smooth, strong, and perfectly balanced. Great quality beans, well-frothed milk, and always served hot. The baristas know what they’re doing and are happy to customise your order with a smile.
The service is where Glenorie Bakery really shines. Even when it’s busy (and it does get busy), the staff are always friendly, patient, and efficient. You can tell the team actually enjoys working there — and that energy makes a difference. There’s a warm, country-town hospitality vibe that makes you feel welcome no matter how packed it is.
The atmosphere is another huge draw. Whether you’re dining in the spacious outdoor area under the trees or grabbing takeaway for a road trip, the setting is charming, relaxed, and beautifully local. Families, tradies, tourists — everyone finds a seat and feels right at home.
And let’s not forget: this is a destination bakery. People travel for it. And it’s absolutely worth the hype.
In short: Glenorie Bakery nails it on every level — food, coffee, service, and vibe. It’s not just a quick stop, it’s a place you look forward to visiting. One of the few spots that feels like it actually gives more than it takes. Can’t...
Read moreWORST HIGH TEA EVER! I booked a high tea to treat my mother and mother in-law after a hard 12 months. This was so far from the luxurious experienced advertised on their website. No table was reserved for us and we waited 10 mins on arrival to be seen to by staff. I was mortified... Waiting around and watching staff wipe down saturated seats and tables for us was not how I had imagined our high tea would begin. The food was mediocre at best and service was almost non-existent throughout the whole high tea. No napkins, no cutlery, and NO TEA CUPS! Yes we were given cardboard cups to drink our tea out of. It was almost comical. You pay a premium for a nice high tea experience and Glenorie Bakery are so far behind the standard. Staff said that the cardboard cups was due to Covid. I'm more than happy for this to be procedure but tell people when they are booking the high tea so they are aware a very crucial part of the experience will be missing. This is what you are paying for when you get the high tea. The high tea description on the website also mentioned you received it's "famous meat pies." No not a pie in sight for us! It also states it's "the best high tea experience you will ever have." It couldn't be further from the truth. It was honestly horrendous! We tried to make the best out of a bad situation but my guests were left feeling disappointed and I was left feeling very embarrassed and ripped off! Do yourself a favour and avoid this...
Read moreGlenorie Bakery offers a delightful experience with its madly popular pies, all-day brekkie and an impressive selection of baked goods. The croissants, Danish pastries, and cheesecake tarts are particularly outstanding, and so are the burgers reflecting the bakery's commitment to quality and flavor. The Deluxe Biscoff Pancakes are my kids favorite and draws us back here often. Understandably the food is a standout and deserves the awards. The ambience is warm and inviting, with quirky bakery memorabilia and vintage decor that adds to the charm of the place. And that cute little toy train and the clock theatrics every hour.
However, during my recent visit, I was disappointed to encounter a cockroach the size of a plum over the pie display counters, which raised concerns about cleanliness. While I understand that such incidents can happen anywhere, it did put me off returning again to this much loved venue. Perhaps it was just an unfortunate day, but I feel it’s important to mention so the management can take appropriate measures.
It’s a shame because the food and atmosphere are fantastic, and I truly wanted to love this place. I hope this was an isolated incident and that the bakery continues to maintain the high standards it is known for. I regret having to leave this feedback, but I believe it’s necessary for the best interest of both this award winning local business and its loyal customers.
