Gourmet On Ashford — Restaurant in Sydney

I have been to gourmet on ashford twice. The first occasion I got rissole roll, and roast pork roll, with gravy. Both were absolutely lovely. So I decided on a follow up visit, a few weeks later. The second occasion I ordered a grilled chicken roll with added cheese, and a roast beef roll with gravy. I took them to the park across the road, to enjoy whilst my dog had a runaround. These were terrible. Lets say the dog had most of the gourmet lunch. The grilled chicken was cold, I thought they would cook it to order, thus why I ordered cheese, I wanted it melted on top. It was a cold chicken and salad roll, not to my liking at all. And the beef roll was half full of fat, tough and chewy, dry as cooked to a well done, looked like a bolar blade roast beef. GET A TOPSIDE BEEF ROAST, if you are going to do a beef roast. Trust me, you cant go wrong, It will turn out much better. Will give them another visit, to try their hamburgers/burgers, steak sandwiches, that way I can try something...

Great food served quickly at reasonable prices. Staff are super friendly... We each ordered a 1/4 chicken and chips, and were intending to take it away, but last minute decided to sit outside and eat at their tables... Bill must have seen (from inside) that we were sitting there, and without asking came and handed us a set of proper metal cutlery to replace the plastic stuff we had been given. You are a service-minded legend...

THE best cafe for breakfast and lunch in the area. I have been eating in and ordering take-aways dozens of times. Zero complaints. Only great food and staff pleasant to deal with. Don't forget to check out the whiteboard behind the counter: the cafe owner writes new funny jokes there every single day! And when I say funny I mean it.
