Heathcote Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Sydney

First time I went to this shop and thought based on the reviews I can’t go wrong. However, when I unwrapped my meal at home I realised they forgot the tartar sauce and lemon and I had to eat my fish & chips plain. There was a really young blond bloke serving me, looked like they just in training which is properly why they messed up. He paid a lot of attention greeting customers though but probably would have been better to focus on adding all the necessities. Quality of the seafood seems decent but were a little heavy on the salt, maybe because they were quite busy. Prices are very reasonable. Might give it a second shot next time I pass through.

It may not be a biggy for you if tartar and lemon are missing but tell me what’s Fish & Chips without it?! 😭 I hope you can take this on and improve and make your staff aware to pay attention to this little but important detail next time. I am lucky enough to have such a great shop fish and chip in my neighborhood. I have been eating here for years and can honestly say they have the best chips I have had anywhere bar none, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We usually get the fish cocktails and they are always freshly battered and cooked to perfection and my go to choice when we make Baja fish tacos at home. Great service and the owner is hands on and always friendly and thankful for your business. The young staff are always courteous and professional which is refreshing in this day and age. On any given day you will find a small crowd outside waiting patiently and happy to share that they traveled half way across Sydney because the heard that this place has the best potato scallops in town. This is without doubt the best fish and chips in the area. I've been to all fish and chips in the shire and the best just changed owners in Sutherland (don't go there anymore) even all the way through Wollongong to Ulladulla I haven't come across any better. Just order the lunch or dinner for 2 and watch the seafood get prepped fresh in front of your eyes from all fresh ingredients, the prawn cocktail/cutlets are awesome!!!

The shop is always clean and the people are quick and very hygenic, I can't think of anything better in a takeaway.

I know it sounds too good to be true and normally I wouldn't herald this kind of service because I wouldn't want it to get too popular but in this case I'm more afraid of the opposite being true and i'd be happy for it to be busy if it means the shop stays...
