Jannali Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

If I could give this restaurant no stars I would. Me and a friend went to eat dinner here a few weeks back and had the worst experience. We ordered a prawn dish for our main and when it arrived it still had the poo shoots attatched, hadn’t been washed and were dirty. When we explained this to the manager and other staff they simply shrugged their shoulders and denied any responsibility and instead blamed it on their “supplier”. We said that it is not a problem with the supplier as they are the ones who are preparing and cooking the food. They continued to either ignore us, talk about us amongst themselves and deny any accountability. It is absolutely disgusting and not to mention completely unhygienic to be serving dishes with the poo shoots still attached to the prawns. They then expected us to pay full price for the meal and eventually gave us a 10% discount. We should have just walked out. I was actually sick the following two days from that horrific meal. I am truly dumbfounded by this whole experience and would never recommend this...

This was our go to Chinese for a long time, but tonight was the last time we will ever eat there/order takeaway. We ordered $70 worth of food, and the moment we opened our dishes we smelt how off the food was. Out of the 7 dishes we ordered, only TWO dishes were edible. We rang the restaurant - understandably upset, and received NO offer of compensation, nor any real apology for the state of the food. Rice was gluggy, the lamb was spoilt and the spring rolls and chow mien were off and tasted weeks old. Chicken and pork were reasonably okay.

So disappointing. I never make reviews like this and we are normally forgiving of these situations, but we are so appalled at the food and service this time, we couldn't let this go.

$70 down the drain and no dinner...

UPDATE on my previous review. I have since returned and the service is much better but the lunch special is now very overpriced.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years since they were at kareela. Since another lady has taken over it has gone way down hill. Tonight was the last straw for me. I spent $80 on delivery and my satay chicken may as well have just been called satay onion. I called to complain and they said there was nothing they would do about it and they are sorry. So I drove down there and showed them and this new lady was so argumentative and rude and I demanded a refund. I will never be going...
