What a delicious dinner I had here! It was entirely by chance that I found this place, I just opened Google Maps and looked at what was in walking distance!
Eating here on Wednesday night I was lucky to arrive between 5 and 8pm for their All You Can Eat menu! This menu seems to change regularly and offers slightly different items to the a la carte menu. However both are available to order from during the time period.
I chose Gnocchi Pomodoro and it was truly love at first bite. It is very clear from the irregularities between each piece that this gnocchi is hand made. The flavour and mouthfeel are like no other gnochhi I have ever eaten before and I simply could not stop myself from ordering a second plate.
Now; I am vegetarian, so my menu options were slightly limited (many items include prawns, salami and ragu meat sauce). It was absolutely fine, the staff were happy to ensure my meal was correct.
A couple small things-- not worth complaining about, just some helpful feedback for staff!
My initial order took quite a long time to be taken (perhaps 10-15 minutes?) I was dining alone so I did not need so much time to choose haha. Then when my order was submitted it took 25 minutes to come to my table.
When I asked for the same gnocchi from the All You Can Eat menu, the staff member who originally served me was quite insistent on telling me I should try another item and that the chef will just surprise me with a vegetarian dish that they recommend.
It was a little uncomfortable being asked to choose something else on an "All You Can Eat" menu.
Initially I agreed, but I have some other food sensitivities (lactose etc.) that I was worried would be an issue, so I asked another server to switch my order back to more gnocchi.
That same server who I asked to switch my order brought my plate and then unceremoniously dumped it in front of me and left without a single word. They took my spoon with my previous plate but didn't replace it so I couldn't eat up all the delicious sauce. 🥲
Also gotta be said, really dislike the forced tipping on the EFT screen (I did tip though). I'm happy to pay more per meal so staff get better wages instead of tips.
Overall super awesome meal, loved it, 5...
Read moreMy family and another family (4 adults / 4 children) had a reservation at L'oro Di Napoli on Saturday night. On arrival we were asked to wait outside (freezing cold) because we had arrived 7 minutes before our reservation and the table wasn't ready which is understandable.. but the table had then been cleared and was empty and we remained outside for another 15 minutes before my husband had to go and ask if we could come and sit down.
We were given our menus and it took another 20 minutes before our order was taken. We then waited over an hour for our food.
My son's "kids spaghetti bolognaise" came out about 1 hour after we ordered and the portion was so tiny he took about 4 spoon fulls and it was finished. (Kids meals better suited to a 3-4 year old than a 6 year old)
Another 15-20 minutes and we got the first pasta which was served cold. Each pasta came out one at a time with atleast 5-10 minutes between them. (almost as though they can only make one meal at a time).
By 8:30 we still hadn't received our pizzas, my 8yo was waiting on a margherita and we asked several times only to be told it's coming and she received hers last!
I did notice while we were waiting the other patrons were leaving because they were also sick of the wait.
Once we got our food the servings were so small, the mussels and clams in the pasta were so over cooked there was almost nothing edible left in the shell on the plate.
The pizzas were so thin they barely held the sauce on them without tearing to pieces.
It is obvious that the wood fire pizza oven doesn't have the capacity to keep up with the dine in orders and take away orders and maybe the owners should consider not doing take away orders on their busy nights to maintain a level of service to their dine in patrons.
The actual restaurant is beautifully presented however the noise is loud due to cramming so many people in and then having the music playing on top so it's difficult to have a conversation without screaming.

Read moreI should start by saying that this is my third time trying their pizzas , the pizza is good but the service has always being pushy, trying to make you order starters, drinks, etc (with the excuse that their pizza takes a lot of time so we might want something to wait). However this last time we ordered through uber eats, as we had guests. Order was made at 6:10pm, and pizzas weren’t ready until 9:00pm (3 hours) . That’s an absolutely disrespect with customers. It was not even driver fault. It was the restaurant. I had to call 3 times and it was just until i told them to cancel that they had the order ready. Of course half of the pizzas were cold.
Second time we were there, we saw a delivery guy waiting for some pizzas to deliver. We ate and left approx 1.5hr later and he was still there waiting in front of the restaurant. We saw him a few times trying to go inside and ask for the order and waitress were unhappy with him. Poor guy having to wait nearly 2 hrs or who knows.. even more to do a delivery for $8 ???
