* edit 1/9/24… What the hell happened to this place??? Below was my first review of Lone Star Penrith but lately, it’s been one to forget. So, the only issues were with the food. Service was ok, but the food was pretty terrible. To start, we ordered garlic bread and mozzarella sticks. The cheese sticks were fine but the bread was toasted to the point where it was almost burned. Bread lacked the juiciness from the garlic butter and was totally dry. How can you mess up garlic bread?? Most of us ordered steaks and ribs and mine was probably the best. NY steak was cooked medium but none of our steaks came with the rocket and Parmesan salad. When I asked the waitress, she didn’t actually know but went back into the kitchen and brought out the forgotten salads. The rump steaks looked more like a minute steak. Very strange looking rump that was burned and really thin for some reason. One of us ordered a salad which oddly took the longest to arrive, about 15 mins AFTER we had received the steaks. This is what really annoyed me though. When I got the bill, we had been charged for the sauce for the steaks! Yeah it’s only $3 for the sauces, but the menu clearly states that they come with “any sauce”. When I questioned why were being charged for the sauce, I was told that it’s only certain ones like gravy, mushroom etc that are free with the steaks… Perhaps they should change their misleading menu to “comes with certain sauces” instead of “ANY” sauce. Prior to this last booking, I had the meatball schnitzel a few months back. Oh boy… The meatballs are clearly frozen and reheated as my schnitzel was literally swimming in water from the reheated meatballs. The meat was a weird grey colour which is a dead giveaway. It’s a shame. Used to be good, but lately food has been below average. Just go up the road to Outback’s for a steak that’s always cooked perfectly and is actually cheaper. (Original review below) Such a great atmosphere at this place. Live music, outdoor tables and plenty of space for kids to run around after dinner. The service from all the staff, in particular Kellie who looked after us was faultless and even though the place was full for pre Father’s Day dinner diners, our food was served quickly, hot and fresh. Loved my burger but I had serious food envy for my dad’s steak and rib combo.

Lonestar Restaurant Penrith - Amazing Food, Staff, and Atmosphere for My Son's 15th Birthday! I recently celebrated my son's 15th birthday at Lonestar Restaurant in Penrith for a table of 12. The first thing that struck me was the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Created a fun and relaxed ambiance that set the tone for the evening. The restaurant was well-lit, clean, and spacious, with plenty of seating options to choose from. The staff at Lonestar were exceptional, providing attentive and friendly service throughout our meal. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and made to feel right at home. Our waiter (Lachlan) was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, ensuring that we had an enjoyable dining experience. The food was delicious, with juicy steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, and tasty burgers. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the western-themed atmosphere was fun and welcoming. We enjoyed live music and had a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for a special celebration or a delicious meal! If i could give them a 10 out of 5, I would. Thank you for a perfect night

Great service, tasty and appealing dishes. My friend and I had lunch/dinner here on the way home from Mt Victoria today (24/05/2024). We also had lunch here in June last year on the way home from Blue mountains. The foods has always been great, and i like the atmosphere of the restaurant with wooden chairs and tables, and nice fittings. Today, we have had steak with mashed potatoes, and lamb sharks. The staff member there said that the lamb sharks was the new dishes and hasn't been put on the menu yet. My friend liked the lamb sharks, but I like the steak more. We had the chef brought the food out to the table and introduced himself to us, I think it's a nice gesture and I am glad to meet the chef as I was curious who would cook delicious foods like this and the decorations of the dishes was appealing and nice. I wished they have sweet mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes chips in the future. Also, the steak dish was a bit pricey in comparison to other restaurants in other suburbs in Western Sydney, and the dish would be nicer and healthier with a little bit of vegetables such as a piece of carrot and 2-3 pieces of green beans.

POOR MANAGER ON FLOOR ! *MAN WITH PONYTAIL *

Went for dinner tonight with my family, was very disappointed with the manager on the floor. I ordered a reg Nacho chips valued at $22. It came to table filled with Nachos with Melted Cheese, Red salsa (no Beans) (No mince Meat), Avocado and Sour Cream, No jalapeños. As I began to eat into it I realised there were ingredients missing. I called over a staff member who happened to be the manager on the floor, he asked if that's how it came, I said yes its missing meat and Jalapeños, he said ok Ill go see what's happening in the kitchen. He never returned and never explained why the rest of the ingredients where not on the plate. After 10minutes I called over a staff member and ask them not to make another serving if that was what he was doing, as I wasn't going to eat when my family and Guests had finished eating. Come to pay the bill I asked the young lady to remove the Nachos, she said she would need to get it removed by the manager. He came over and said what was wrong with it, I explained again ingredients where missing, he said no, I checked the camera and it was all on the plate. I explained that we had two on the table and that there was definitely ingredients missing which is why I stopped eating and called him over in the first place. He said well I said that it came like that when it was filled to the top with the ingredients. I asked if its supposed to come with mince in the red sauce, he said yes and it was there. I began to get very upset as he would not budge and was so arrogant even though I told him to check the camera again as I am not the type to complain about my food and would never ask for my money back if I received the final product. He kept saying ill return the money but It was checked on the camera and was served with all ingredients. My booking was at 7pm Friday night, feel free to check the cameras because my nephew on the table also ordered the same plate except he had jalapeños but also no mince meat or beans ... but we left that one as we didn't want more of a fuss made. He Kept saying he didn't need to check again because he saw they were two full plates and claimed that all ingredients were served including the mince, beans and Jalapeños... This man should not be managing the floor, or working in hospitality. I am pregnant, and I had cravings for Mexican and he left me without a meal, and upset by the end of the night basically accusing me of being a liar! I will never be back, will never bring family or friends, which is a shame, because the other food was very nice, and the staff on floor where also very accomodating.

I ended up getting my $22 back, but I want the owner to know this awful man argued with me and Mae me explain myself over and over, when there was no need as I can guarantee you if management check my plate you will see mine was served with no jalapeños, as for the meat and beans I don't know how you can check that but it wasn't on my plate.

HORRIBLE SERVICE FROM...

My family and I wanted to try someplace new while visiting Penrith today. We wish we made a better choice. We have visited many steakhouses in the past and by far this was the worst. It was early and barely anyone there when we arrived at 4pm . The male server we had that took our order and served us was wonderful. That was the only nice part of our experience here. Our entree and kids meals came out first. Then finally my husband received his burger and I ordered the wagyu rump steak medium rare, we also paid extra to get a side salad and I switched my chips for onion rings. My husband and my salad was horrible tasting ,like the lettuce was old. He said his burger wasn’t very tasty and his chips were cold. The worst part of the dining experience was my steak. I asked for medium rare. It came out in 3 pieces. 1st piece dried out, 2nd was blue, and 3rd was medium. I asked for my server and he came and said they would replace it for me. 20 mins later, mind you everyone else is done with their meals now , I have yet to eat and sun went down no heat lamps on at all so now cold and hungry. Steak comes out with my onion rings. Again wasn’t cooked properly now was medium well. Called the manger, tried to explain what was happening. He proceeded to talk about the cut of the meat and how the owner is going to remove it from menu. Kept ignoring what I was trying to say then says he can’t do much for me since I already paid and food was ordered. Said the best he could do for me was offer me the sirloin which would take 7 mins to Cook to a medium rare. I kept explaining wasn’t about the cut or the meat it was how it was cooked. Still refused to understand what I was saying, kept repeating how without any extra charge he would get me the sirloin which mind you is cheaper then the cut of meat I ordered. I was already upset been there now almost 2 hours and haven’t even ate. The manger proceeds to take just the streak and gives me my horrible salad back my 3 onion rings that they gave me in place of chips and cold mushroom sauce as he said” so I could eat at least something.”Well between horrible tasting salad and grease soaked onion rings wasn’t much to eat. The steak comes back sirloin , still not done properly, and the taste idk what was on it or what they cooked it in but been sick since I had some. I had-my husband try it and he even said it taste like someone marinated it in oil and butter and fried it. Not happy at all fed up and walked out . manger didn’t seem to care and said he couldn’t offer any help other then the best offer he could give me was...

In short

I wouldn't recommend. No service was provided except for seating. But still that was questionable.

We came into the lone star a day ago. Around 12 o'clock. The girl behind the bar said table for 3. We said yes. She said go sit down anywhere we wants as there wasn't many ppl in the kone star. We sat down in a booth. Looking at the menu and drink menu that was already set up on the tables. We just wanted drinks first that way we can relax and cool down as it was a hot day.

We was there for about 20 mins no one came to our table to serve us and it wasn't busy only a couple of other tables that had ppl and including us. we noticed that there was a small QR code on the table number and it said order and pay.

After looking on the QR code and it took us to an app where it had a complicated menu. There was a search bar on the menu thankfully. So I typed in some the items that was physically on the menu that was on the table. And it says that the item doesn't exist. We went into each section in the app and realised that not everything that was on the physical menu that was on the table wasn't on the app. And we couldn't ask the waitress as there was none to ask.

We noticed other tables were just sitting there and not being served which was weird considering we r definitely in the correct lunch time business hrs.

So eventually I ordered drinks reluctantly because it took ages to go through the process of putting in credit card details phone, basically yr life story.

Soo we waited for the drinks which I ordered that was about $50-60. And got nothing for about 10-15 mins. And still no service from any waitress or waiter. Finally I said F@#$ this  and started to walk out. Oooooh and waitress pop out of nowhere and said oh hi did u order drinks.

I said yep, but don't worry about it, we're going bye.

Soo we went up the road to outback steakhouse and omg it was amazing. The ribs the chicken and the steaks all amazing. And with regards to service. We actually got service through out the entire meal.

I do highly recommend outback steakhouse in penrith.

But I don't recommend lone star near the nepean River.

There is no service unless yr about to walk out from getting no service. Do yr self a favour go somewhere else like outback steakhouse (we went to outback steakhouse because we wanted something from the grill like rib steaks) even the coffee club. which is really good too.

The only thing nice about the lone star was the seating and enjoy looking inside of the place. But if u want to eat or drink...
