This afternoon Michelle and I decided to visit an Indian Restaurant in Penrith called Masala Kitchen. This restaurant was recommended to me by Michelle who has visited this venue previously.
Masala Kitchen did not disappoint. The hospitality provided to Michelle and I was amazing. The staff looked after us today and they do care about dietary requirements and allergies.
Instead of ordering separate meals, Michelle and I thought it would be interesting to order a selection of dishes to share.
The dishes we chose today were: Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma, Chicken Biryani and Cheese and Garlic Naan.
I ordered a Mango Lassi which is an Indian Yoghurt drink. This drink was delicious and the mango yoghurt was thick and creamy.
The Chicken Biryani is a dish I have not experienced previously. The Chicken was infused with spices and along with the Basmati rice gave this dish plenty of flavour. This dish came with a side of creamy yoghurt sauce which cut through the spiciness and gave extra flavour to this dish.
I am a fan of Butter Chicken and this roasted tender chicken along with the tomato and butter sauce did not disappoint. The chicken was mild, had plenty of flavour and we both enjoyed it.
The Lamb Korma was comforting and warm to my taste buds. The lamb was tender and practically melted in my mouth. The sauce was slightly tangy and was made from cottage cheese gravy. It too was super tasty.
Finally, the cheese and garlic naan was different to naan I have eaten previously. This naan bread was thin, reminded me of a crepe and had plenty of cheese and garlic. It was very moorish!
Michelle and I enjoyed our experience today and we give this restaurant a ten out of ten. The service was fantastic and the staff do care about customer service. Thanks, team, for looking after Michelle and I today. I do plan to visit this restaurant...
Read moreStumbled upon this hidden Indian restaurant bang opposite the Napean river. A rare mix of fine dining and semi casual Indian cusine environment. Very spacious, enough exuberant staff to walk you through a great dining experience. Straight up what I loved about this place was the young and lively staff, absolutely no strong spicy odours that embed themselves in the walls and the furniture, neat and clean environment great enough to bring your friends visiting from outta town for a taste of the Indian subcontinent. If i was not told which cuisine does this restaurant cater, i would have never guessed it ie no pictures of Taj Mahal, elephants, exotic dancers etc and no instrumental indian music playing. Young musicians play live here on most evenings and it's quite a treat. For people not from the Indian subcontinent area, i would recommend to get a bit adventurous and try things other than Butter Chicken (Though that is also quite a treat). I would recommend the Lamb Cutlet (Lamb rack) and OMG ( Oh my goat). The Okra chips really go well with a chilled beer. Whilst BYO wine is not there, their cocktails are pretty interesting, eg Blue Bubble Gin (or something like that). Arvos are also great, i would recommend the Dosa and a walk around the Napean river. I loved the way, the staff were explaining and recommending cuisines to patrons who are not Indians. I'll recommend to make a reservation. In a nut shell you can't go wrong while taking your friends out to an Indian...
Read moreI had joined my friend Manjit to have dinner at Masala Kitchen Penrith as her daughter was having her own rendezvous with her football club friends. We have not booked a place at Masala and we went in and we spoke to a staff who approached us. The staff was not very assuring. We got the message that we had to book and if not we don't have a place for you. There were many tables in a 4 seating space but not for 2 seating space. So we waited to see if there is ever going to be a table when a gentlemen approached us and asked to have a seat as he will be making some adjustments for us. So please book your place before you go. Less than few minutes, a couple walked in and they split the 4 seating to 2 seating each. Thank you to the gentlemen which we found out later was the owner of the restaurant. I could see the atmosphere was happy and cheery. The staff were happy and they were very pleasant and smiley too. (Told you..the boss is a good fellow.) We continued to take a seat and ordered our food. it was too good to be true. We enjoyed it very much. To top it off, we order Masala Chai. It was a little small for $5 but it was make very well. It was worth it. Thank you Masala Kitchen Penrith for such an outstanding way of treating your customers. We...
