McDonalds stores should be classified as either a "suburban" or "stop through", where suburban refers to McDonalds restaurants catering to mostly local residents and surrounding suburbs, and stop through referring to restaurants where most customers pass through, need a pit stop or smoko, swap driver, or mid shift, driving through and needs a quick fix. Blaxland McDonalds is a hybrid of both, being that it's the only MacDonald's in the lower Blue Mountains and if you miss it, the next one is an hour further towards Lithgow or down in Sydney at Emu Plains... So it's no wonder it's busy with its locals. On the weekend, a completely different demographic, where mostly international tourists along with greater western Sydney travellers swamp the inside seeting areas, infrequent cues of family cars taking the drive through to save time. Let's just say, this store runs hot all the time. I would say this isn't bad, but it certainly slows things down if you are in a rush, remember this is fast food and traditionally McDonalds would make the food and leave it in the warmer until ordered. Things are obviously different now. So patience should be exercised if you are told there's a wait.
Quality is assured with their menu being kinda universal everywhere. This place is 24 hours. Why is this important? Because when a kitchen is running at full steam and cleaned and maintained the only living things in it are it's staff. I know that when restaurants close up of a night and the lights go out, everything cools down and critters make their move, I've seen sausage party... but as Blaxland McDonalds is 24 hours, there is not a free moment for a bug to even slip inside. I've never had an issue here and beside a few meat patties arrival vietical on the bun or the cheese just sitting in the box, it's all been in there, I've just had to assemble it, which is great cause it takes me back to when I played with Lego. Anyway, to cut a long story short. Yeah it's...
Read moreI came in for a burger and a coffee after a very long drive, with a fair way still to go and I was having a lot of trouble with the MyMaccas app... I was feeling miserable and frustrated, the shop was very, VERY busy and the staff barely had time to look up let alone help... That is until I met a young employee named Ryder, who was off duty making his own purchase at the time, and had observed my struggle... I overheard him go out of his way to alert the staff member who served him that I was waiting for help, (he was off duty making his own purchase at the time) then, (i assume because he realised that it was going to be quite a long wait as it was so busy, and even though it seemed like he was originally just about to head home for the day)... He took it upon himself to offer me assistance... He was so incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable and generous with his time and help...
I was almost in tears from the horrible day I had before meeting him... And after my interaction I was almost in tears from reflecting on how wonderful it was that young man like Ryder could put aside what he was doing just to stop and help a stranger like me, especially so willingly and with such kindness and maturity. He is an absolute ASSET to the company, and Blaxland McDonalds is SO lucky to have him! Customer service like that is rarely seen ANYWHERE these days! Give that man a pay rise! đđ And...

There were no customers and 2 employees did not acknowledge me until eventually I was told by female staff âwait wonât be longâ whilst walking away from me to the cake fridge. Upon being served there was no smile at all and no eye contact. After ordering and paying my change was âplonked into my handsâ consequently a coin fell to the counter. Staff did not apologise or even attempt to pick up the coin and place into my hand. Waiting for my coffee the make staff re-used old milk in jug with fresh milk (bacteria would be an issue here and lack of attention to quality of product. I noticed 4 jugs in total with old frothed milk sitting on the counter top, this is in my opinion putting customers health at risk with diarrhoea, vomiting and other illnesses that can be caused by this practice ) after pouring milk the staff placed a lid on the cup with hands and fingers placed onto the spout of the lid. He then plonked my coffee forward and proceeded to look at monitor. I had to ask is this mine.
Time 7.55pm my son had to wait for a while to be served and when he finally got his frappe and came to the table the lid came off very easily and spilt onto the table.
Service, product quality and prevention of contamination, needs your...
