Fusion Thai ? Yes. Authentic Thai ? No! Entree should be tasty, creating appetite. We ordered Mixed Entrees, they’re dry as if they’re made and been sitting in a hot box for quite some time. Tom Yum soup should have 4 tastes - salty, sour, sweet and spicy. Most Thai food in Sydney area got all 4 except usually making it too sweet and overpowering the other 3. Monkey Thai’s Tom Yum is surprisingly and refreshingly sour but not sweet, not spicy and not salty at all. Even my boss who can’t take spicy much seemingly quite enjoy it. So I don’t know should I say “disappointed” or “encouraging”. I only know I have to ask for chopped chili peppers to wash down all the dishes. For Thai food, that’s bad on my book. Another feature of Tom Yum is the taste would becoming stronger as the temperature of the soup gradually cools down. Not here, the soup tastes exactly the same regardless. Fry rice should be dry. But Kai Pad here is the wettest fry rice I ever had. Vegetarian Pad Thai is too sweet too fruity for my taste, but my boss seems to like it (who has never been to Thailand, so must be “local taste”). We left around 6:30 pm. The place is approximately 30% full. I don’t know whether it’s good for a Friday night. Despite the carpet, the noise level is getting a bit loud. Would I be back? No. But seemingly my boss like some of their dishes, so “maybe” because she always get what she wants. Yes, I’m...

Unfortunately, after being a happy loyal customer I have to change my rating from 5 to 3.

It was great to find this Thai restaurant a few years ago so close to home and in every post enquiring about good Thai restaurant on social media I highly recommended it.

I don’t know if your chef left or moved to your another restaurant in Como, you changed your ingredients supplier, etc. but quality & taste of food dropped significantly.

We invited our friends for a Thank you dinner saying that it’s the best Thai restaurant in the Shire and we got very embarrassed at dinner.

The biggest disappointment from our recent dining was waguy steak which was absolutely a must for me every time we dined at the restaurant or ordered take-away in the past.

The meat cut was no way a waguy steak and it was so tough and hard to chew. We didn’t even go through half of both portions we ordered. Scallops were overcooked and padsew was super dry.

Unfortunately, it’s time for us to find another Thai restaurant but I’m still thanking you for being a good restaurant...

My husband and I went to Monkey Thai for the first time recently and we will definitely be going back !

We ordered satay chicken skewers & vegetarian spring roll for entree. For mains we had chicken panang curry and prawn cashew nut stir fry. The Panag curry was absolutely delicious and very authentic. The cashew nut was also great and prawns tasted fresh however the jam was quite strong and heavy for us but that’s just our personal taste.

The service was great and staff were so attentive and kind. I will mention though that the atmosphere of the restaurant is very loud and we couldn’t really hear ourselves talk. This may be uncomfortable for some. I guess this is an example of how popular this place is. If you are going on a Friday / Saturday I suggest booking a later session so most of the crowd start to leave and the noise goes down to a comfortable level.

Overall a beautiful restaurant and we will be...

*response to the owner's comment* If lunch specials are takeaway only, please specify that. I have included a picture of your signage which doesn't not show this. Had lunch here the other week after seeing a sign that they had lunch specials. When looking at the menu there were nothing in relation to lunch specials and it was only until I asked they confirmed there is no lunch special but they did have buddha bowls on another menu(piece of paper) that was never provided with the menu. A bit misleading and sneaky if you ask me, especially when you advertise it on the sign outside to bring customers in. The veggie buddha bowl was ok. The peanut sauce included was nice. We also tried the pad kee mao which was good. The full menu is a bit pricey for Thai dishes on average ranging between 20-30ish per mains.
