I have been getting pizzas from Montes for many years. While the food is still good, the service is now terrible. I have had several bad experiences recently picking up pizzas - lack of organisation, confused or absent orders, rude or indifferent staff etc. I avoid ordering pizza online from them, because in the past they have lost the order (more than once), or been so late with it that it's ridiculous. When a pizza place tells you that your order "is going in the oven now" or is "going out the door right now" you know that they are being less than honest. And that's what's happening these days at Montes. They must think their customers are idiots. Tonight (Fri 13 Sept), ignoring conventional wisdom, my wife ordered some pizzas online from Montes at 6:50PM. Promised delivery time was 7:30PM. At 8:20PM, it still hadn't arrived, so my wife rang them. She was told "It's just going in the oven now". At 9:00PM, it still hadn't arrived (we live 400m from Montes), so she rang again, this time getting voicemail. She rang back multiple times, and was finally told "The driver is on his way now" at 9:11PM. At 9:21PM, still no pizza (remember, we live a 1 minute drive away), so we rang again. This time we were told that the driver didn't have our address.(!) Somehow the address wasn't in the ordering system. You'd think they would have noticed that at some stage in the preceding 2 1/2 hours & called us, or mentioned it, the many times that we called, but no. The pizza finally arrived at 9:35PM, 2 1/2 hours after ordering.
I don't think I will ever order from Montes again. I am a long-standing customer of more than 10 years, but that counts for nothing. They have no respect for their home delivery customers, their processes are faulty and their customer service very poor.
I do not recommend that anyone order home delivery from...
Read moreHave been a long time customer of Monties, we usually get pizza delivered every Friday night. Let me just say when it's good it's good, but recently the quality has dropped so severely that I don't think we will be getting food here anymore.
Delivery times have always been kind of insanely slow for how close we are (less than 5 min drive away) but when you order Monties you expect it to be at least an hour and a half, recently it's been as long as two hours.
So you'd be thinking, oh well they must be taking their time to make a great pizza. In the past this may have been true, but now it's a complete crap-shoot. Some of the pizzas I've received have been pretty good, but mostly they are terrible and undercooked or just burnt on the top and the base is like mush. The ingredients are just chucked carelessly around, no care has gone into it.
I had always gotten delivery so just assumed at the prices they are charging that they maybe at least had a trained chef on, but when I was there a few weeks ago it was entirely teenagers. Now that's not to say a teen couldn't make a pizza, but I'm paying like it's being made by a master not an apprentice. At least some supervision?
I wouldn't have bothered reviewing but the last pizzas we got were basically raw, they still took an hour to come and actually gave our whole family explosive diarrhea.
Frankly for you'd be better off getting dominos or something, at least it will be cheaper. I still think they could make a comeback, they used to genuinely make great pizza I don't know what's going on there, but someone needs to step in. It's a real shame to see a mountains institution drop this badly, I've probably spent literally thousands of dollars there over the years, if they are losing customers like me, it's a bad sign...
Read moreAfter ordering a meal one hour in advance via the restaurant app. I arrive to pick up my meal at the agreed time of 6:30 pm. I was told that my pizza had been cooked but my pasta had not been cooked and would be another 15 minutes. After returning 15 minutes later I was then told the pasta still wasn’t ready and would be another 10 minutes. I returned to the restaurant 10 minutes later and waited five minutes before the manager came and spoke to me. I was then informed that my pasta was now ready but my pizzas had gone cold and we’re being reheated. I was told it would be another 5 to 10 minutes wait for reheated pizzas as the pasta cooled down. It’s fair to say this was a disappointing experience on Valentine’s Day. I don’t own a restaurant but I know that pizza cooks much faster than pasta. I would have thought the obvious thing to do when realising the pasta had not been cooked and that I was going to have to wait 15 minutes would be to prepare two fresh pizzas to be ready at the same time as the pasta. This would have insured all food was ready and hot at the same time. I have had many good meals from this restaurant in the past but it is fair to say this is left a sour taste...
