Paddington Grind — Restaurant in Sydney

I find Paddington Grind a hard one to review. Why? Their service and disappointing coffee just don’t match.

Service 👍🏽 We were greeted as friendly as it gets and we felt truly welcome. All of the service team we had contact with was amazingly friendly. Clearly five stars.

Coffee 👎🏽 My partner and I ordered two different coffees, unfortunately both which have been all but good. While her flat white was drowning in way to much milk, the shot brewed in my cup was clearly overextracted with heavily bitter notes. (Not due to a dark roasted bean, just not brewed well.)

Food 😒 To be fair, we did not try a lot of food. However, the MIXED(?) berry muffin was quite the letdown, containing a meagre five small blueberries, no other berries. It was 95% dough which unfortunately was very dry and uninspiring in taste. Looking at some other plates I had the impression locally prepared foods looked more inviting. Didn’t bother to stay and try because of the disappointing coffee.

My wife and I ate here for lunch and we were absolutely wrapped, excuse the pun. The service was outstanding, super friendly, helpful and quick. We both had wraps, super yummy and a lady who we sat next to who we chatted to loved her hamuli salad. The portions were a generous size so no shrinkflation here unlike so many other places. Great little cafe in Paddington. A little bit up on Oxford Street on the right hand side on the way towArds Bondi. Good selection on the menu at price that won't break your wallet. Small table that are good for you and a doggie or two. Some bigger tables inside but it's best to sit on the footpath watch paddingtons finest stroll past, even better when it's market day on Saturday.
