Pizzamaster Lindfield — Restaurant in Sydney

This place has good food! So for Father’s day we decided to order a half-and-half pizza and a boscaiola pasta to have a nice family dinner at home.

We ordered by phone at 5:10pm, a few minutes after they opened at 5:00pm, to beat the dinner rush. Just to make sure there were no problems with the delivery, I repeated the telephone number twice and the address twice. They said it would take 30 minutes.

40 minutes later, the food hasn't arrived, so I called them to ask if it was on schedule or whether there was a delay. They said the driver should arrive soon.

10 minutes after that, no food. I phoned again to check on the status of the order. They said the driver will be leaving with the food soon. (???)

10 minutes after that, I asked again about the order. They said the driver should be there in 5-10 minutes. We are getting pretty hungry at this point and my dad is impatiently asking where the food is.

10 minutes later, no food, so I called them again. They said it should arrive in 5-10 minutes. Strange!

10 minutes after that, I check again. They said they didn’t have my order. (??????)

But then they check again! They said the deliveryman tried to call me but no one answered (what? I was staring desperately at my phone the entire time). So he left the food at some other unit in my block (????)

I go over to that unit and the food is still there, luckily. But the pizza has devolved into a completely cold state, in harmony with the floor. The pasta has turned into a cube with the sauce congealed into a solid mass.

I look at the receipt and the phone number was wrong, which explains why the delivery person couldn’t call me. Also the address didn’t have the unit number. So it was reasonable for the delivery person to drop it at a random unit and hope for the best! No complaints about the delivery person, A+ decision making there, I would have done the same.

Also they got my name wrong so even if the delivery person managed to find someone and ask for the right unit, they wouldn’t have been able to anyway. Unfortunate

Around an hour and a half after I placed the order for a 30 minute delivery, I finally bring the cold pizza and glob of pasta back to some very hangry people. What a Father's day celebration!

Anyway, the food is pretty good, so five stars. But don't be stupid like me - either order online or in person, and definitely go to pick it up instead of...

This place used to be the bomb, but since the website and online ordering has been updated (not sure if change of ownership or what) it’s been not as pleasant. My last experience entailed me placing an order online, receiving a text message saying my pizza was ready for pickup, and arriving to find out my pizza wasn’t even made. The online orders come in a different way to the phone orders and the staff couldn’t figure out what happened. When I spoke to the owner he told me the text message was to confirm my order was received (text message clearly said ready for pickup) and that I should have called up to double check my online order had been received when I placed it. Absolutely atrocious. Ordered at 6:15 and was told the delivery wait was ‘over an hour’. Two hours later I called back and they said (after looking up our address) that it was ‘leaving now’ (we’re 5mins away). 40mins after that we called back and they told us they didn’t have an order for our address!! After speaking to multiple people they found our order - apparently they’d delivered the pizza to another address (no idea where or even if that was true). Now it’s 9pm and we’re starving, hangry, and apparently going to get a refund (we’ll see!!). Wouldn’t touch this place with a 10 foot pole, and I suggest no one else does either.
