Stepping into West Lab for the first time was a delightful experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by two lovely staff members. Their smiles and friendly demeanor instantly made me feel welcome. One was skillfully working the coffee machine, while the other managed the register with ease.

West Lab prides itself on the freshness of its products, and it shows. Their pies, both meat and sausage rolls, along with an array of sweets, are made fresh every morning. Yes, it's truly amazing! I bought some doughnuts, a croissant, and Buldak Cabonara Pie. Regarding the Buldak Pie, I thought it was a great idea to include chicken instead of just noodles in the filling. It mixes incredibly well and adds texture! I think there could be a little more spice because right now it's a little too plain, so that's something I would modify. Still, it's excellent. Impressively, the croissant and doughnut were possibly the nicest I've ever tasted from a bakery. I truly wish to draw focus on the cost and quality of their pastries. Everything at the bakery is so impressively inexpensive for the quality of the product. The croissant was incredibly light and airy. Additionally, the doughnut had a lovely chew and was fairly airy. The Biscoff doughnut I purchased was excellent; but, I would have preferred a slightly stronger Biscoff flavour. All things considered, the quality of the product was superb. I first discovered the Westlab Pastry team via Doughnut Mum in Warwick Farm. Westlab sells the same incredible donuts and New Zealand style meat pies that Doughnut Mum does. The Steak Mince and cheese pie at both locations is the closet thing to a classic kiwi mince pie I have managed to find in Sydney! If you are kiwi missing our Mince pies, I highly recommend a trip to WestLabs or Doughnut mum!

The pies have the perfect pastry consistency and mince to gravy ratio. Flavour is spot on and they are always freshly baked!

The team at both locations is super friendly and always open to feedback on how to make the pies even closer to what we get back home.
