Had a last minute Saturday evening dinner here. Plenty of free tables, but a few had reserved tags on them, which for me is a good sign. It was a bit quiet so service was fast, efficient, and friendly. We started with the old reliable Thai fish cakes, and something I'd not had before - Sunny Beef, which was essentially beef jerky with a sweet glaze and a fish based dipping sauce. Both starters were tasty enough and were light enough to not spoil the main course. Perhaps it's my memory playing tricks on me, but I always remember fish cakes being tasty, spicy, and bursting with flavour. It's been years since I've had ones that measure up to my memory of them back in the 90's. Main course was the chicken choo chee curry, and the mixed seafood salad. The curry was basically a red curry and tasted excellent. The salad was prawn, squid, and mussels with glass noodles, green leaves, and chilli. I was a little disappointed that the mussels were out of the shell and most likely bottles or frozen, but all tasted fine and I would have it again. Nice place, albeit a little noisy with the hard floors and lack of soft furnishings to muffle the echoes. Plenty of young families there with young children, so don't expect a quiet, romantic evening. BYO and there is a Liquor Land 30 meters...

First visit here. We didn't make a booking but it was ok, we went at a later time so it wasn't a big deal. It is a busy restaurant on the weekend so it's probably a good idea to book ahead just incase you want to have a meal here. We had to wait 5 to 10 minutes to be seated because we came when other people were coming in and also leaving and paying bills. Then we got seated our tables were cleaned after we got seated again because it was busy with all that was going on.

The menu has some different items, not the regular Thai dishes you see, but majority of the menu is. We had great service by the staff, they were very kind and friendly. The seating was a bit squishy though, hard to maneuver as the tables and chairs are so close together I got people walking in to me. So that was a bit annoying.

The food was ok, not spicy enough for the people I had the meal with. They said it was toned down and not authentic enough like it is in Thailand in terms of flavour and spice. I agree in that sense. It was ok. I would go there again to have another meal to see what other dishes on the menu is like. The service is good and would go there because the...

Not the best Thai I have had so far. Perhaps as there are no other thai shops and other restraunts nearby, in an upcoming area, people aren't aware of how tasty thai food can be and therefore the high reviews on google? I am not sure why the high reviews! I will try it again to see if it was just mediocre food on the day. My honest review... I went there bought 4 thai fried rice, crispy pork belly, pepper beef etc. While the service, ambiance and cleanliness are great the food is sub par in taste compared to other thai restraunts I have been. Fried rice lacked the usual spice, taste and was low in salt, all 4 of them. Pepper beef while it was tasty it lacked quantity for the price, around $18.00.and there was nothing pepperi about it. Crispy pork belly was soggy and therefore not crispy. While the beef fried rice had beef in it, chicken fried rice was very scarce in chicken! Overall the food was just ok. I have had better Thai food for better price from campbelltown, macarthur, ingleburn, newtown, wynyard, central, chatswood etc.

I will try it again to check out if it was just not that...

If you haven’t tried willow Thai yet you’re missing out, they are one of the best or best I’ve tried in Sydney South West. All the dishes are beautifully cooked with delicious ingredients and flavours. The portions on each dish is generous and the price is reasonable considering there is no competition around. The Thai milk tea so also nicely made with a strong aroma from the tea combined with the sweet condensed milk will make you coming back for more. My pick: Thai style fried rice, tangerine prawns (quite generous in quantity), Tom yum noodle soup, crispy pork belly, larb gai, Thai milk tea. The restaurant does get quite crowded, which they’ll extend the seating to outdoors. Staff are friendly and food comes out quick. So next time you go shopping at willowdale, stop by and try willowdale Thai.
