Despite the many positive reviews, my personal experience at The Shed Willowdale has consistently left me feeling disappointed. As a local resident of Willowdale, I’ve frequented this café regularly—particularly over the past two weeks, often in the mornings.

Unfortunately, every visit seems to come with the same issues. The customer service is almost non-existent. A simple smile or friendly greeting would go a long way, yet I’ve never received either. The staff often appear distracted or disorganised, even when there are only a few customers. It’s hard to imagine how things would function when the café is at full capacity.

The coffee has been another letdown—more like lukewarm milk with no real coffee flavour or depth. The meals are decent but frequently missing ingredients or details, suggesting a lack of attention to detail.

Because of these repeated disappointments, I’ve started going to Black Elk Café instead, where the service, food, and coffee are consistently outstanding.

This review isn’t meant to discourage others but rather to highlight areas where The Shed Willowdale could improve. I genuinely hope to see positive changes and would love to return one day to a...

I first tried out the Shed Cafe here in Willowdale late 2024 & it's been absolutely awsome from coffee, sweets, breakfast & lunch to pretty much anything you order. I would have to say I'm quite the fussy eater & not easy to please, until I met the wonderful team who's done nothing short of impressing me every time I pop in. My favourite breakfast would have to be the farmers omelette which is absolutely delicious & full of fresh beautiful ingredients that salivate all the taste buds!! Lunch, I'd have to say is the Cheese Burger with seasoned fries & I just can't turn a blind eye to not finish off a meal with a mouth watering freshly baked in house muffin. I have never once been disappointed with any meal & the service from all the friendly staff is a 10/10 for me. Last but not least, it's the consistency that the shed café has, to deliver great food by friendly qualified staff in a nice atmosphere each & every time. Come on down & grab a feed...

I am not too sure why they think that burnt food is acceptable to bring out. Both our breakfast meals were burnt - the croissant was charcoal, and the French toast was missing some of the ingredients from the menu and also burnt. In addition, when ordering my 10-year-old niece asked the girl for a muffin which was in the display, and she said they just sold them all. I said its still in the window and she said pick something else.

When the burnt food came out - I told the person who suggested to bring out some cream to help the taste and she did but why would anyone think it's good to do that. Wish I took photos to post

I come here when I visit family in Sydney - was better previous. Although they have designed it nice and the atmosphere outside is great but really burnt food?

Also, coffee took 10 minutes longer to come out than the actual meals which was odd. Lucky, we asked for take away...

I absolutely love this cafe! The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The coffee is great, and I can always count on a delicious cup to start my day. What really stands out, though, is their incredible selection of gluten-free sweets. They are baked fresh daily by the owner, which adds such a personal touch to the place. I had to go gluten-free about six months ago, and not being able to enjoy pastries and sweets like I used to was such a bummer. But this place has completely changed that for me. I recently tried the strawberry and cinnamon muffin, and I can honestly say it was the best muffin I’ve had in years! So flavorful and perfectly baked. My husband agrees, the other sweets and meal options are fantastic as well! Thank you for making my gluten-free journey so much sweeter! Highly recommend this spot to anyone, gluten-free or not!

Ordered a small cappuccino which is tiny and got coffee flavoured milk. I couldn’t drink it, it was that bad. Decided to give them a second chance and ordered a half chicken schnitzel wrap and was slapped with a $7.50 charge. Have posted the photo so you can see how tiny this wrap really is. I honestly couldn’t tell you what the schnitzel tasted like as there was next to nothing in it and to add insult to the injury, the bottom part of the wrap (about an inch and a half) was empty! I will give them that they’re consistent … consistently bad. On a positive note, the nice friendly guy behind the counter almost makes up for the rest of the staff I encountered that aren’t exactly what I would call customer service material.

Ordered online using the QR code provided at the Cafe. Very simple and easy to use and pay. We ordered takeaway as we had our unwell toddler with us. We got a text saying we'll be notified by text once order is ready. After almost half an hour of waiting and wondering around we went back to check if our order was ready to see it was sitting there and gotten cold. Disappointed with the lack of communication and service. Food was as good as it could be half cold
