UPDATE: Wow... You really are a nasty business owner. You do realise how Google Reviews work yeah? People have the right to leave both positive and negative reviews if they would like to. For a business owner, your aggressive replies are very unprofessional and are really not painting your business in a favourable light. You seem to go on the attack towards anyone that writes a negative review. I cannot believe how you spoke to Emily Lu below. Calling her "everything that is wrong with the world. I won't ever be ordering from your store again.
OP: I've been a loyal customer of this place for many years. They really do make delicious pizzas, but recently their treatment of customers on Friday and Saturday nights is a bit ridiculous. If you happen to call the place at 5 mins after 5pm, they will always tell you it's a two hour wait for your pizza. They make up some excuse like "we have a function on", but yet every week it's the same BS. Ok, you have a function on, that's great. Surely you are business savvy enough to understand that every other customer outside of the function is equally important as well? Why make them wait two hours when you could stagger orders between the function and other customers? If I walked down there and decided to eat in, would you make me sit at an empty table for two hours before serving me my food? No, you'd push it between the function's orders. This seems like such basic logic, yet Wolfpack would rather make life harder than it needs to be for customers ordering takeaway. Plus it only seems to be customers that order by calling that are disadvantaged. You can place orders through DoorDash for a slightly higher price and it's still the regular 20 minute wait. There is something really odd going on here. If they keep it up they will totally lose their Friday/Saturday customer base. I've already made a note to never order from this place on Fridays or weekends. It seems really unfair and such a slap in the face to customers who loyally order from them.
Response to owner:
Hello, just to keep it simple:
"People book functions on Friday/Saturday nights..." - ok I get that, but you're still offering external orders so why do you allow the function to take priority and everyone else has to wait? Why not stagger orders in between so that all customers can enjoy?
"People are placing orders at 9am on a Friday" - That's awesome that you're that busy, but if that's what one needs to do to place an order, then why not express this when someone calls up and is told they have to wait 2 hours? I wasn't even aware that your store is open that early? It used to be an evening only restaurant. Perhaps a little guidance to the customer on the phone of what to do next time to avoid the wait would be helpful, rather than just a hard "the wait time is 2 hours, no exceptions". Reminds me a bit of the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld...
"In regards to Uber/DoorDash..." - If you adjust the wait time for the order after someone has submitted it, then I would assume the app would update the average wait time for anyone looking at placing an order at your store? The average wait time in the app always seems to say "20 minutes". That must be quite a shock for the Uber orderer who places on order for 20 mins pickup and is then hit with a 2 hour extension.
"Why are you trying to order on a Friday night..." - My comment was in reference to "going forward', but also I thought I'd give you guys another try on a Friday, that's why. As I said, I order from you guys regularly during the week because that seems to be the only time I can place an order easily. As I originally said, I won't be calling on a Friday anymore because I never have any luck. Seems like it's VIPs only.
I am really happy for you that your business is doing so well. As I said earlier, your pizzas are fantastic! It just seems unfair that some folks seem to get blocked when it comes to ordering. There seems to be customers who are "in the know" and that is obviously not me.
That aside, keep up the good pizza-ing and I hope you have...
Read moreAs an Italian born and raised, who has lived in the Shire for over 11 years, I feel compelled to share my own experience at this pizza shop. I've had my fair share of pizzas both in Italy and across Sydney, and I have to say, this place consistently delivers an outstanding pizza. The flavors are fresh, the crust is perfectly crispy, and the woodfired taste is truly authentic.
I couldn’t help but notice the previous review left here, which I think doesn’t reflect the quality of the food or the atmosphere. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I believe reviews like that do a disservice to a local business that works hard to provide a great experience. It’s disappointing to see such harsh criticism, especially when the reviewer seems to have missed the true essence of what this place offers. If the experience didn’t meet expectations, I would encourage anyone to reach out and communicate with the staff instead of leaving a negative review. We are all part of this community, and supporting local businesses is what keeps them thriving.
If you're looking for a true, hearty pizza, give this place a try. You won’t be...
Read moreUpdate Just clarifying my review due to the strong response. I came here in Nov 2024 but that doesn’t mean my memory or experience changes. Yes it’s family friendly which can be a good thing and I was just trying to illustrate how family friendly it is because I could not tell by the reviews, photos or website. E.g. It’s not a date spot (unless you don’t mind?). As for the pizza it’s just more comparable to something like crust. I didn’t enjoy it relative to the other woodfired pizzas I’ve had in Sydney and was just surprised about how different it was from my expectations. — I felt fooled by the other reviews.. My pizza was disappointing. Crust was dense and flavourless. Although I like cheese, the pizza was completely covered in a thick layer of what tasted like store bought shredded cheese. Just didn’t really have any complexity or freshness. Lighting was off inside, it felt like I was in someone’s house. Also clearly targeted at families living in the area, I think there was a drawing corner? And kids in the...
