Wooden Mill, Normanhurst: Manoush, Grill & Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

So conflicted, I wanted this to succeed because it's local but it's also genuinely not particularly good.

Burgers are way too salty and just not very impressive compared the competition in the area. The prices are very competitive though.

A local bakery is an exciting concept, it's actually a bit of a dream come true. The issue is it's hardly a 'bakery'. What's on offer is a somewhat depressing arrangement with some of the more interesting offerings appearing not fresh and imported in.

I've been here 3 times and admittedly haven't tried anything on the menu but don't feel like i'll come back unless they up their game. Import less, improve the burgers, add more in terms of toasted sandwiches, donuts, pies, specials.

I really hope this place may continue to improve and not meet the fate of the restaurants that stood there before it.

EDIT : I have tried some of the pastries. I make note in my review that I haven't tried everything. I'm extremely sceptical that those almond croissants are made in house, nothing about them seemed fresh. All the baklava and other Lebanese sweets on the shelves are definitely imported. I've tried 3 of your burgers and so have some of my friends. My scepticism has nothing to do with a lack of tolerance to salt. I can name several burger places within a 10 min radius that do a better job. You can keep doing the same thing and not try to improve, but understand my comments are just trying to be constructive, not intended to upset you. I love Bakeries I love Lebanese food, to me this isn't doing justice to either of those themes. It's great conceptually and I wish you the best of success.

EDIT 2 : After trying this place a few more times I can confirm it's just bad, the equivalent of cafeteria food. The staff seem nice enough and I do appreciate the assortments of baklavas. The coffee's might be good. Outside of that all its food items are abysmal. This is speaking from someone who's tried all their burgers/wrap and 2 'pizzas'. It's legitimately the quality I would expect a child to produce.

I've already gone into more detail than I should. But the burger meat is dry and terrible quality, The buns are stale and low quality and the combinations are just strange and uninspired. Why is their a desire to add corn to every burger?

I cannot comprehend all these 5 star reviews, I assume they have to be from friends/family of the business. In no reality is this 5 stars. Maybe i'm missing out on...

Well well aren't you just a big hidden diamond 💎😂 I really don't want everyone knowing about this place because it's sensational and I don't want it to be sold out when I go for food!!!! 😁😆🤭😛

Stopped by this afternoon with my partner and decided to try the chicken wrap with added cheese, (no charge) what a bonus on top of exceptional customer service and with a smile by both the cashier and what I would assume was the owner / Boss.

While waiting I was browsing the menu and decided to ask what the manoush was and was given a free zaatar Oregano and it was so fresh an amazing. 5/5 I'd give a 10 if I could!

Hands down best chicken wrap I've had, can't wait to go for another chicken wrap and to try more things on the menu.

When food brings a tear to your eyes and makes you feel like part of the family, then it without fail deserves a review. I'd give a thousand stars from the sky if I could, to know the secrets behind these family recipes?!. My first order of the day was so terribly Magnificent! That I placed a second order immediately upon finishing my first. The Quality of the products and produce used is obvious. Stands out from the crowd. It is only out-done by the professional manner of staff and common courtesy sometimes lost in this world we live in today. My second Order contained a gift special to me im gathering by its temperature, that I will cherish until I persish. This is the absolute best food around.
