We pulled up because our niece was hungry. Entered the cafe with 3 other adults and 4 children. I watched how everyone of us was stared by the lady at the counter. My spouse asked for the menu and she showed the board. But later decided to provide us with the printed menu. As we sat at the table, she shouted across the cafe and asked if we are paying together or separately, which I felt was rude. For once I wondered if she was going to pay for us instead. She spilled latte on the saucer when served.
It's not our first time here. We have had good experiences with staff there but today was our ultimate worst service from the one lady at the counter. We have been living in Hobart for years and have been to many cafés in Tasmania. I totally applaud at this lady's bad service. I hope it was just her having a bad day and not from the heart (because she was smiling and being friendly to other non-Asian guests). She definitely does not represent the beautiful faces of other cafés...
Read moreHad breakfast this morning. Grabbed a menu that was on the table just outside the front door. Don't trust this business seems to be run by Chinese. The misleading menu we found out after we ordered was not what they charged us. They're thief. What's in the menu price? It's far from the receipt prices. Run by Chinese trying to steal money from poor, unsuspecting customers. We both ordered the so called Big Breakfast. What a joke! Mushrooms from a can and only a few. No tomato. 1 small piece of toasted bread. It was $18.50 for each Big Breakfast on the menu. We were charged over $23 and when questioned was told by the staff that there had been a price rise (after she checked with the presumed Chinese cook/manager/owner). Do not eat here! Rip off Central and dishonest practices. They should be reported to the office of fair trading for charging customers more than what was advertised on their menu and falsey saying a Big Breakfast was a Big Breakfast when it is no way a...
Read moreWe came today as a group of 13. The table doesn’t have a reservation sign. We asked someone if we can join the table, she then said yes.
Now this other old lady, chubby cheeks with smokers teeth, rolled her eyes and asked us if we have reservation. We said no. She said “there are people who are coming with reservation and you are just giving us more pressure.” Even though there were vacant tables.
We then left and went to Lavander cafe which is the perfect turn of event. The restaurant was beautiful, food was delicious, and great customer service.
I suggest, never come to this takeaway shop. They need to kick that lady out, she is a cancer to their shop. NEVER GO THERE, LAVANDER CAFE is much much better. We deserve to...
