We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Cradle Mountain Tavern Bar & Bistro as a family during a rainy April day in 2023. It turned out to be the perfect opportunity to seek refuge from the weather, and we were greeted with an experience that exceeded our expectations.
As soon as we stepped inside, we were welcomed by a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The highlight of the tavern was undoubtedly the wood log fire, which not only kept us warm but also added a touch of rustic charm to the whole place. It created a comforting ambiance that made us feel right at home.
We decided to indulge in some delicious food, and we were not disappointed. The menu offered a variety of options, and everything we ordered was not only pleasing to the taste buds but also served in generous portions that left us feeling satisfied.
While we had initially ordered a pumpkin soup to complement the weather, there was a mix-up and we were served cauliflower soup instead. However, our server, Daniel, handled the situation exceptionally well. He displayed a high level of understanding and immediately offered to rectify the discrepancy. His customer-first approach was truly commendable, and we appreciate his effort to resolve the issue promptly.
Despite the minor soup mix-up, our experience at Cradle Mountain Tavern Bar & Bistro was unforgettable. The combination of the inviting atmosphere, delectable food, and exceptional service made our visit truly enjoyable. We left feeling warm, satisfied, and grateful for the attentive and accommodating staff.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Cradle Mountain Tavern Bar & Bistro, and...
Read moreOver all the ambience is nice, it’s difficult not to be being in such stunning surroundings. We arrived for something quick to eat before we attended the ‘Devils@cradle’ (which was FANTASTIC). We ordered some snack foods as we thought that would be quick and some drinks. As I was collecting the drinks that we had ordered, I realised I had forgot to order for our children🫣, so I asked for a child’s menu (which was hidden at the end of the bar by the till). I asked if I could order a kids spaghetti to be added to our original order. The helpful bartender said yes that he would sort that once he finished serving his current customer. A few seconds later, another staff member came over (who I assume was the manager) to advise that if I wanted to be served I have to go to the back of the queue which was over 10 people long. I tried to explain I just ordered food and needed something added on, but he was not interested. By this point we didn’t have time to order. Food was ok, pub grub style but customer service from the staff member in question was...
Read moreA bit pretentious. I mean the food (fries and sweet potato wedges) was lovely but when I asked for two large hot chocolates the guy said he couldn’t give me large because they were using the mugs for the mulled wine (which obviously are twice the price of a hot choc) and they didn’t have enough mugs. I insisted that I wanted a large and not the puny little cups he was offering as it was cold, we had just been hiking for 3 hours in the 5 degree weather. He said reluctantly ok: serious it wasn’t like I wasn’t paying for the large and he made it sound like he was doing me a favour. And if you are having mulled wine, get in more mugs for the occasion. You are a big organisation with lots of people coming thru and you are charging exorbitant price for it. So apart from that service, it was nice sitting there in the warmth with our ‘large’ hot chocs but I think I will get it from the visitors centre cafe next time. Much...
