King Island Bakehouse P/L — Restaurant in Tasmania

One of those great country-town bakeries that produce high-quality, tasty pastries/cakes. Their pie range is insane! (see photo) I managed to try 3 different types while we were there on holiday, and all 3 were great. However, you need to get in early if you want access to the full range, as they go quick - by late lunch (~2pm) there are only a few different types...

Great pies and competitive prices. Tried the chicken leek pie, beef curry pie, coconut jam slice and chocolate donut. Everything was good and fresh. If you're looking for more like a brunch, there's also a cafe two doors down this shop called Leg's Cafe. We get our cheeky desserts from here after our cafe brunches also. Friendly staff and satisfies a good bakery...

Tremendous. In a word. The Pies are truly award winning. Our group of 21 straight from the airport on a bus were fed, entertained and hydrated very very quickly. Friendly country banter and a very very unique menu. Crayfish pie...probably caught before sunrise...the Pies were soo fresh. We also enjoyed a taste of pastries and yummiest.
